Quotation from Quintillian, I believe (unless someone was fibbing about that too).

'If not now, then very soon the president’s lawyers will be eyeing the exits, power-calling their media contacts and having panicked off-the-record conversations, whispering that they never knew just how bad it was going to be. Trump has slipped the leash. He’s gone full rogue, defying not only legal advice but every member of his slope-shouldered claque of shell-shocked, thousand-yard stare advisers. He’s back to tweeting with a manic vigor typically seen only in people equipped with a Red Bull IV drip and a pound of pure Bolivian flake on their desk.'

NorthWest We must have the same mum Grin. No ill-wishing, no saying you 'hate' someone, no swearing, and no saying 'shut up'. Scrotus has made me throw all those childhood teachings out the window. And I'm sure we're not the only ones. Another thing to put to his account, the responsibility for so much anger (against him) in people who are normally peaceable. And damn skippy if Mar A Lago was here he'd be singing a different tune. Except that we Californians would probably have put the damn place to the torch ourselves (see childhood lessons lost Wink).

Now excuse me whilst I slip into a flesh-toned sequined evening gown so I can regale Mr Mueller with a breathy version of "Happy Birthday, Mr Special Counselor".

This counts as supremely qualified in Trumpland.

'But all told, these allegations—which sparked lawsuits, reimbursements and an SEC fine—come to more than $120 million. If even half of the accusations are legitimate, the current United States secretary of commerce could rank among the biggest grifters in American history.'

@mkraju
NEW: Kavanaugh said in 2013 that presidents can ignore laws they view as unconstitutional, defending signing statements. Dems have demanded his staff secretary records, citing Kavanaugh and signing statements. Rs say staff secretary not involved in policy.
@mkraju
Kavanaugh noted that if a president signs a bill "and says these certain provisions in here are unconstitutional, and we're not going to follow those provisions, that is a traditional exercise of power by Presidents."
@mkraju
In a legal opinion that same year, Kavanaugh took a similar stance
"If the President has a constitutional objection to a statutory mandate or prohibition, the President may decline to follow the law unless and until a final Court order dictates otherwise," Kavanaugh wrote in ‘13

Acrossthepond55 LOL at Californians putting the torch to the damn place themselves.
I live in the UK but am from Sacramento. My sister still lives round that way, she teaches yoga, and Trump has made her lose a lot of her Cali chill.

We’re planning on maybe moving to the States in the next year, DH has had a good job opportunity, so I’m having to take my head out of the sand and educate myself as to how much he’s destroying the country. Will be reading these links you guys posted today with some dread.
