Hand in hand with

snack box’s or baskets for older childreneach box is filled with the desired amount by parent

Children can get their allotted snack from the end of breakfast however once the snacks are eaten that’s it until the next day
No swaps
Any attempt to puillphur anyone’s else’s snacks will result in convercastion of ones own snack box

It helps with self regulation and helps keeps shopping bill down

How sad that playing outside has to be enforced in timed slots Sad

PositiveVibez · 27/07/2018 21:03

I'll give it 3 weeks tops

🍿

MoonsAndJunes · 27/07/2018 21:03

Most children like some sort of routine. I'm sure OP doesn't stick rigidly to actual time slots ('30mins up, let's move on' kind of thing) It's just a plan for the day that's all.

I have teens as well so these are tried and tested in our house just trying to support some frazzled parents

Their was a women today at the zoo who looked on the verge of tears with her 4 were only a week in here

I would flip it for, if you've played outside all day, you can have some time on the iPad . Otherwise Nice tips👍

MoonsAndJunes · 27/07/2018 21:14

I think it's great OP! You're right, I think teens need structure too!
They need to realise that laying in bed all day is not good!! (Looking at my DS!)

bigchris · 27/07/2018 21:15

Oh thanks op this is brilliant

bigchris · 27/07/2018 21:15

My teen won't go outside at all

Hoovermanoevre · 27/07/2018 21:16

Ps...that is not in a holier than thou way. I need mine to be playing out for sanity, mine and theirs.
I need their crumbs and meals to be taken outdoors.... I love the ready made playdates with local kids rather than endlessly being expected to do childcare because I'm at home ...I love that they're physically exhausted at the end of each day.

MoonsAndJunes · 27/07/2018 21:17

My teen won't go outside at all
I hear you... my DS has been in bed all day with the curtains closed Hmm He's getting up tomorrow whether he likes it on not!!!

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 27/07/2018 21:18

My dd would have eaten that snack by 8am and would be looking for more.
Good idea though we have enough routine during the school year it's nice to let dd actually relax and watch the iPad.
We generally go out for the morning and come back after lunch,
We've had school holidays for 4 weeks now so definitely into the swing of things.
Enjoy your summer op

Hoovermanoevre · 27/07/2018 21:19

Yeah teens are a different kettle of fish. They need money , junk food , and wifi. And they come alive when love island comes on, then stay awake the whole night, to surface at around lunchtime the next day. More like little vampires

FuckyDuzz · 27/07/2018 21:20

The first one and snack boxes are not for us, we like our summers to be more fun and fluid and chilled ... and full of crisps and ice cream!

Metoodear · 27/07/2018 21:25

@FuckyDuzz. Not tying to push this on any one everyone’s different just thought I would be nice if we could all share some people are really struggling the summers are long and hard for some were for me to until I got a bit more rountine into things

Teens are the hardest age! My ds is 15 and he and his friends are all addicted to Fortnite.
He goes to the gym every day but then moans that he's fed up. Has already been on holiday to Cyprus with his dad and expects me to provide fantastic expensive days out for the whole 6 weeks Grin

I have a 7yr old dd too which makes it so hard when trying to choose activities to suit them both.

Thanks op, I will be having a good look at this tomorrow, am off to bed now as the first week off has exhausted me...

3rd of September, 3rd of September. And repeat.

NoMudNoLotus · 27/07/2018 21:33

Its ok for younger children.

Smellbellina · 27/07/2018 21:34

Haha we really go for it in the summer hols, today we have sat about in pants, watched films, played board games, made brownies, played in the garden, had baths, ice creams, made stone babies Hmm and just gone to bed with a promise they will wash hands faces and feet. I trust them. Oh we did do a tidy up game though! Hoovering took an hour!
We have enough time slots and routine during term time, it’s the start of the holidays!
