Replacing my 'normal bras' with bralettes and sports bras.

I ask because I don't want to embarrass my DH/family when I am out or get in trouble at work.

I am small chested 38b and normal bras never fit me right, I always get back fat or they don't fit right and they ride up. Today I bought some different types of sports/bralettes and they look so much better. Am I breaking a rule by wearing these all the time now. I'm 30 and a size 18 5ft 8 and hold most of my weight in my middle. My style is pretty relaxed and my work dress code is basically nothing revealing but we can wear what ever we want.

In this heat i have been wearing a sports bralet type thing from matalan. I have fairly big boobs and small frame but this is tight enough over the chest to provide enough support and ive happily ditched my bras for now.

@KatharinaRosalie

I've been measured in Bravissimo, Boux Avenue and Orchid

I've actually got size ten jeans on today. I'm 5ft 1 and about 9 stone-ish

Fat back it would seem 😕

Absolutely hate bralettes too tbh, give me no shape whatsoever

Definitely try boob or bust or bravissimo
I'm a size 14/16 and wear a 32 back

I started wearing bralets while pregnant now I'm finding them convenient for breastfeeding too. I can't see me going back tbh. Coupled with the giant pants I've taken to wearing I am quite the catch.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad that I can switch my bras and not feel self conscious. I wear a back pack to hide my back fat in this weather. I think I'll have a look at the suggestions for good bras for special occasions.

@NynaeveSedai I know it's not a real rule and I can wear what I want but I just wondered if it was socially acceptable. Silly I know Grin

I love wearing sports bras for gardening in. I do lots of bending and stooping and in an ordinary bra the girls can topple out a bit. Blush Sports bra contains all safely.

I hadn't heard of bralets and have googled the Markies ones. Does anyone have any difficulty wriggling into them? I sometimes have a bit of wrestle with the sports bras and swimsuits but it's all calories out isn't it

Nothing wrong with sprorts bras and bralets if you are comfortable in them and you are happy with how you look. I reckon furture generations will look with horror at our bras in the same way we now look at corsets.

Boux Avenue do some very pretty non underwired bras, good for larger cup sizes too.

Bravissimo arent necessarily the solution. Turned out the best fitting bra in the shop for me was the one i came in on the i had fitted myself from primark. It was the same style and only one size down of band size of bra i had worn before 4 stone of weightloss. My band size was virtually the same at a size 18-20 as it was at a size 12.

You cant necessarily judge these things, everyone's bodies are different.
