To ask what your favourite nail varnish is

I don't wear the stuff but have lately noticed so many lovely colours and starting to think it would be nice. What's your favourite brand and colour? I literally haven't worn it since I was a teenager so have no clue.

Another one that likes rimmel. At the moment im going for rose pink!

I too am amazed at the people saying Chanel. I agree they do the best colours,so beautiful. But the quality!

I use Essie now and it lasts really well, my favourite at the minute is Aperitif.
Make sure you keep your nails in good nick,OP. File them well regularly, and use a base coat.

An online company called Radioactive Unicorn, gorgeous colours and super sparkly. And they go on really nicely too.

I think it depends how your nails take it. I only really wear on my toes and Rouge Noir lasts perfectly. However I’ve given other brands to my mum because they flaked off me, but she wears them fine.

Dior is the best quality nail polish I have ever used. Dior Pretty is my usual go to when at work.

I also use Rimmel and am currently wearing Danny Boy Blue (on annual leave)

Barry M. Great range of colours and cheap. But make suren you get a quality to/base coat too, that makes all the difference.

Absolutely OPI. Can get them a bit cheaper at Nail Polish Direct, they are a bit pricey full price. My favourite in terms of a good wearable shade is probably On Stranger Tides.

I agree Barry M is great for cheap bright polishes though, just don't expect them to last as long.

I like Rimmel too - the quick dry non-gel stuff. Azure is lovely.

Essie is my favourite but OPI is really good too. Whilst the weather is nice I like Essie Too Too Hot or Watermelon. Normally I'd go for a nude like Essie Topless and Barefoot or Ballet Slippers. When the weather is cold I like Essie Bordeaux.

Chanel chips when you breathe on it but Rouge Noir is beautiful.

Radioactive Unicorn do lovely colours but take forever to ship and customer service is...umm...patchy.

Don't really have a favourite brand.
To me it's all about a good top coat.
My favorite colours are at the moment are
Mint. Lilac and Peach.
I'm currently wearing peach

Rimmel and Barry M have great staying power and I've tried a lot of nail polishes. I also rate Nails Inc although they're a bit more pricey.

Mavala ‘cortina’ it’s a lovely pale grey with a tiny hint of lilac, it’s pretty and flattering.

I love Barry M Nail Paint. Nowhere near me sells it though :(
I'm looking forward to buying some more colours next week when I take a trip into town. I've just got back into painting my nails, and I like to change colours every week.

Opi do one called Gelato on My mind, which is my favourite colour. It's a mint green colour

OPI Malaga Wine, can't beat a good red, especially on short nails like mine.

I too find the quality of Chanel polish poor but they do a great selection of colours. Peridot, blue satin and particliere my favourites.

Dior are much better quality for the more expensive brands I use 666 a proper red colour. In my opinion the best brand for quality and price is Essie. I tend to use their gel top coat over both their normal and gel polishes as it gives the same longer lasting and shiny effect on either. My favourite colour being sand Tropez, a creamy nude, their white and a lemon which is called something like chinchilly.

Essie. The only trouble us I can never decide so buy too many colours. Get base coat and fast-drying topcoat too.

Barry m is the best I've found for longevity.

I get gel done now though.

I'm just looking at OPI and I'm going to order some.

My favourite is a pastel lilac one I got, no idea where and a light turquoise one.

Wow thanks everyone! Never even heard of OPI or Essie, quite excited to get trying some colours!! What's the best top and base coat?

I use OPI Natural Nail basecoat and swear by Seche Vite topcoat.
