To want to shout it from the rooftops - my autistic DS has started to talk!

My autistic DS is 4 and about to start school. He spoke until 2 then had a massive regression and stopped talking completely.

Just this past two weeks he has started saying single words again.

I don't want to go on about it to everyone I meet, even though I feel like I could.

He might say 'I love you' soon!

That's brilliant news. My little boy is 3 and has various autistic traits by no diagnosis as yet. Every word is such a step in the right direction xx

LadyOdd · 19/07/2018 23:21

Such lovely news x ❤️

NorbertTheDragon · 19/07/2018 23:22

Amazing news! My son was 5 when he starts talking after only ever saying "Oh dear" when he was 18 months old. It is truly amazing when it happens. I cried when he first said mum.

He's 16 now, and though he still has speech difficulties he doesn't shut up, just like my other kids!
