To say we need a new MN secret code / item to use IRL?

I joined MN in 2013, whilst duffers with DS1. There was a lot of talk about a 'Mumsnet scarf' that you could tell if someone was a MN-er if they were wearing one - sort of leopard-print, maybe blue?

I asked one friendly-looking mum at a baby group once if her scarf was a Mumsnet scarf and she looked confused and mildly offended. Yay! Go me.
Other than that I never saw one, and actually it might have been a wind-up or in-joke I didn't get because I was too new and stupid.

But we should have a Thing. A subtle way of slyly signalling that we are Mumsnetters, right? But what could it be? 🤨

AmazingPostVoices · 17/07/2018 01:25

Aaagh! The heat must have gone to my head! I forgot all about the line dancing spiders and their dirty little Willie's!!

Zoomzoomzoomzoom0 · 17/07/2018 01:39

Willie's what? Auto correct wishes the willies to take ownership.... Typical.

Sammyham88 · 17/07/2018 01:41

Definitely doing the supermarket divider signal every time I'm there now Grin

Reading a Sandi Tokvig book and noticed she used naice in one bit. 《Waves to Sandi》.

@bluetrampolines

This is the MN haircut . It was quite popular a few years ago, although there were a few amusing threads when it had gone a bit disastrously wrong for some MNers!
