Or is DP? (Should I LTB?)

cornishmumtobe · 14/07/2018 20:24

So currently sat with DP eating a slice of cheesecake.

As is perfectly normal, I am eating mine with a fork. There is no cream or icecream or sauce or anything. However, DP is eating his with a teaspoon Shock

AIBU or is this LTB territory?!

You should LTB, he shouldn’t have to live with someone so unreasonable.

spudlet7 · 14/07/2018 20:26

There is no wrong way to eat cheesecake. But a teaspoon is more wrong than a fork. A dessert spoon would be more sensible - gets more cheesecake in your mouth.

dippyeggsandsoldiers · 14/07/2018 20:26

I eat things with a teaspoon to make the food 'last longer' I'm weird I know 😂

Strongmummy · 14/07/2018 20:26

It’s get off mumsnet and start watching trash on tv instead territory

LeighaJ · 14/07/2018 20:26

I think the icky texture of cheesecake makes it acceptable to eat with either utensil.

NWQM · 14/07/2018 20:27

My husband eats cereal with a teaspoon. I have to look away 😂

KittyVonCatsworth · 14/07/2018 20:27

But rating a big wedge of cake with a teaspoon makes you feel like a giant surely! And it seems to last longer 😂

KittyVonCatsworth · 14/07/2018 20:27

*eating not rating!

Royallypissedoff1 · 14/07/2018 20:28

OP you'll be disgusted to know that I eat chicken with a spoon Grin

LockedOutOfMN · 14/07/2018 20:28

DH uses a teaspoon too, for cereal, etc.

We live in Spain where it seems de rigeur to serve desserts like cheesecake, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, gateau, etc. with a teaspoon.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 14/07/2018 20:29

Me too dippy! A dessertspoon just feels wrong!

cornishmumtobe · 14/07/2018 20:33

@Royallypissedoff1 Shock but how? That's some weird skill you've mastered there ....

OP posts:
dippyeggsandsoldiers · 14/07/2018 20:33

@GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat it does doesn't it! I feel if I use a teaspoon the food lasts longer and makes me feel theres more of it! DP thinks I'm strange, I've done it since I was a kid!

Royallypissedoff1 · 14/07/2018 20:35

Admittedly it is hard to eat chicken with a spoon but I angle it on its side so the side of the spoon just about cuts the chicken 😂

wheezing · 14/07/2018 20:38

I always eat puddings with a teaspoon.

cornishmumtobe · 14/07/2018 20:39

Ok sorry not sorry to drip feed but when me and DP first got together I made him breakfast of a runny yolk fried egg on bread (he refused toast). He didn't use ANY cutlery but picked the floppy bread up whole and ate it a bit like you'd eat a cracker with cheese on. Runny yolk was ALL down his hand and face 🤢. Surely that with the teaspoon situation is enough to make even the most hardened MNer agree I should LTB?

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 14/07/2018 20:45

Chicken with a spoon?! That sounds...complex.

Grin

I feel quite continental after LockedOutOfMN's post!

AlphaBravo · 14/07/2018 20:46

I eat my cheesecake with a spoon. I'll marry him.

Rebooting · 14/07/2018 20:47

Does he make any noise whilst eating? That’s the decider, surely?

Tizzlebizzle · 14/07/2018 20:50

My husband drives me mad. He gives me teaspoons to eat dessert, mixes ingredients in bowls that are way too small and tears up kitchen roll to wipe up spills but never has enough!!

itseasybeingcheesy · 14/07/2018 20:52

My DM eats all desserts with two spoons.

Insanity.

But no don’t LTB just eat his portion of cheesecake next time.

cornishmumtobe · 14/07/2018 20:54

@Tizzlebizzle ahhh with you on the too small plate / bowl. Yes constantly. DP (bless him) makes me toast but gives it me on the tiniest plate ever so the corners of the toast all hang off the edge of the plate and crumbs fall on me. Makes me stabby.

OP posts:
Undercoverbanana · 14/07/2018 20:56

LTB and take the rest of the cheesecake with you.

He doesn’t deserve you or the cheesecake.

arranfan · 14/07/2018 20:58

I eat dessert with an especially small teaspoon.

I bake biscuits that range in (pre-bake) weight from 6-20g.

I've neither been left nor patio'd tho' I take it that some MNers might consider both a patio offence.

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/07/2018 20:58

The decision to LTB must hinge upon whether he uses the teaspoon to eat the cheesecake layer by layer. The biscuit should be left til last.
