Or is DP? (Should I LTB?)

So currently sat with DP eating a slice of cheesecake.

As is perfectly normal, I am eating mine with a fork. There is no cream or icecream or sauce or anything. However, DP is eating his with a teaspoon Shock

AIBU or is this LTB territory?!

I’m teaspoon cheesecake eater! I have a little mouth feels weird shovelling a dessert spoon filled with food into my mouth 😂

Smoothsailing9 · 14/07/2018 20:59

My DH on the other hand uses a dinner plate for a single slice of toast. And always eats curry with a dessert spoon.

haribosmarties · 14/07/2018 20:59

i eat everything with teaspoons... i just dont like how big spoons feel.. forks are okay but id prefer a teaspoon... this is what i and clearly many others enjoy so yabu

my husband however eats pasta with a large spoon... now thats mental

Tizzlebizzle · 14/07/2018 21:10

@cornishmumtobe yes! He'll give me stuff on the kids' tiny plates and the crumbs go everywhere. Makes me so stabby Grin

BackforGood · 14/07/2018 21:11

Your dh is right. You could learn from him, rather than leaving him.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 14/07/2018 21:22

I love all these weird utensil/cutlery/crockery habits!

It's reminded me I used to make one of those interval pots of ice cream at the theatre/panto last forever scraping away at it with the tiny wooden spoon Grin

Marmablade · 14/07/2018 21:23

I ate a cheesecake tonight with a teaspoon. Better for round Gu pots. YABU.

On a similar thread, watching Eastenders from last night and Ian Beale is using his knife to pick bits of the yolk out of his egg and it doesn’t look like he’s broken the yolk properly let alone smashed it all up and swirled the yolk over the plate.

No wonder every woman has LTB 😨

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 14/07/2018 21:41

No Kitty, he should break the yolk with his fork, squirt ketchup into it and dunk his toast into it. It's the law.

FluttershysCutieMarkTheHerald · 14/07/2018 21:45

I used to eat victoria sponge cake with my hands like a sandwich when I wanted to pig out. The whole thing.

Sitranced · 14/07/2018 21:46

Cheesecake should be eaten with a fork because you can squidge and pick up the last of the crumbs rather than faffing about trying to chase them round the plate using a spoon.

Trialsmum · 14/07/2018 21:54

Your DP is correct. I eat all deserts with a tea spoon.

Rosie342 · 14/07/2018 21:58

Must be a male thing, my husband also uses a teaspoon to eat puddings/desserts

73kittycat73 · 14/07/2018 22:57

I vote the right way is a fork too.

TheNoodlesIncident · 15/07/2018 08:07

Isn't it easier to eat cheesecake by falling face first on it..? And saves on washing up

I may have been on my diet too long Blush

Jengnr · 15/07/2018 08:15

Why would anyone use a fork for any kind of dessert? Cake forks baffle me (but then using cutlery for cake is insane anyway imo, just pick the fucker up).

Anyway, small desserts need small spoons so it depends on the size of the cheesecake. If it’s massive he needs a big spoon, ordinary portion = teaspoon.

cornishmumtobe · 15/07/2018 08:55

Ok I might have given this too much thought but here's my 2 cents....

Eating cheesecake with a fork is the right way. You put the fork through, lift it up and there is a lovely bite sized piece of cheesecake on the fork ready to eat.

But with a spoon you have to angle it right to cut through the base and then jiggle the cake on to the spoon (sometimes using a finger to get the cake on to the spoon). It's just harder work.

Or do I just not know how spoons work?!
