Police officers in shocking conditions protecting Trump

According to the news, serving police officers are expected to sleep on camp beds in a hall when off duty on assignment protecting Trump. Surely this isn’t how we treat police.

@Kursk, how is that any better than sleeping in a leisure centre?!

Notmany · 13/07/2018 12:57

It is not an emergency so they should be in decent accommodation.

Kursk · 13/07/2018 12:59

@1stTimeMama

A military base has decent sanitation facilities and the ability to feed and water a large number of people. Obviously if barrack blocks were available that would be the better option.

RAF Northolt for instance would be a good candidate.

Fitzsimmons · 13/07/2018 13:03

There's a lot of whataboutism in this thread. Still doesn't make the conditions the police are sleeping in ok.

maxthemartian · 13/07/2018 13:04

If it's good enough for police it should be good enough for our MPs. After all, they're all about saving the tax payer money.

agedknees · 13/07/2018 13:13

Agree with max.

LookTwoFingers · 13/07/2018 13:16

Owen Jones and his ilk are responsible and its all about them. Virtue signalling and motives that have nothing to do with a dislike of Trump politics.

I understand a demonstration in Scotland, the man is destroying the environment there.

I understand one big demonstration nationally, one place, one time. Why stretch resources unless you have other objectives?

I can't stand what Trump stands for.

HelenaDove · 13/07/2018 13:58

Fitzsimmons there was a lot of whataboutism on the threads about the recent violence and anti social behaviour after World Cup matches . Rugby fans do it too etc.

The recent threads about the Lush police campaign was very fast moving with a lot of people who work in the police.

But post a thread about how a woman suffering domestic violence was failed by officers with pre conceived ideas about women in this situation or a thread about how nothing was done about the recent anti social behaviour intimidation and criminal damage after World Cup matches and certain posters are conspicious by their abscence.

1stTimeMama · 13/07/2018 14:00

@Kursk, they're eating in the barracks cookhouse. They have multiple shower facilities at the leisure centre available to them. I think this is being blown out of all proportion.

ClarkWGriswold · 13/07/2018 14:07

They’re not protecting Trump they are protecting the President if the United States. If they take issue with their conditions of work then they can take it up with their Unions. I’m not really sure how this is a Trump ‘issue’

ClarkWGriswold · 13/07/2018 14:09

Of not if (sorry)
