Why should I be penalised for my wine drinking choices?

The 25% off wine only applies to bottles £5 or more because obviously that move will singlehandedly save the nations livers. Hmm

I drink alcohol free wine which is under £5 and I want my discount Bastard cunting Sainsbury’s.Angry

Surely those alcohol laws mean when that offer isn’t on your saving compared to buying one with alcohol though?

Drivemecrazy1974 · 12/07/2018 15:32

Sainsbury's have only recently introduced this £5 minimum spend on a bottle of a wine nonsense. You used to be able to use the 25% discount on any wine (fortified, low alcohol, etc). I agree that it is really annoying. We've gone back to home brewing because it's much cheaper and the same quality as some of the cheaper wines anyway!

It is wine. It’s dealcoholised wine. And the £5 min has nothing to do with price. It was always included. It’s been affected by the governments minimum price for alcohol.

The minimum price is determined by the amount of alcohol in the drink. So the minimum price for alcohol free wine is zero. So how is it affected?

DaphneDiligaf · 12/07/2018 18:18

I like the flavour of wine, nothing to do with alcohol content so I am asking civilly if anyone has found an alcohol free wine that tastes like dry chardonnay or pinot grigio or Sauvignon Blanc please.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 12/07/2018 18:31

Daphne try Rawsons Retreat Chardonnay (as you asked civilly lol) Grin

BlackForestCake and that is why I left Sainsburys confused.
