Aibu, different outfits due to skinny ankles

I’m contemplating going to the local shop having my skinny ankles out on show. I have changed into a few different outfits, shorts, short dress and a vest dress because I’m hot but need to go to the shop.
I hate summer because of my skinny ankles and I’m paranoid that people will look and laugh at me because of them. To make matters worse I’m top heavy and the boulders are not in proportion with my body. Hence the reason I love winter so that I can wear oversized tops and jeans to cover my ankles. Aibu or should I just be brave and nip to the shop in shorts?

No idea what ‘pyramid toes’ are, just that they were something that highly amused him and he would say “ look at the state of your pyramid toes and chicken drumstick legs”!

God he sounds nasty.

Please don't let him do this to you OP. I suspect he knew that you weren't happy with your ankles and, like most bullies, he picked up on your uncertainty and wore away at it until you ended up having a complex about it.

One of my DDs has very slim or, if you will, 'skinny' ankles. Her legs and feet always look good. We've been in so many shoe shops together when people have complimented her on how much a particular shoe suits her.

That's because she has slim ankles.

Try going out in shorts or a skirt and you'll see, no one will even notice your ankles. Unless, of course they're admiring how slim they are. Smile

I understand op as I'm exactly the same. Mine stems from being mercilessly teased at school about my skinny legs (and yes, I probably could do with therapy 🙂)
My legs are nowhere near as thin as they used to be, but my ankles refuse to get any fatter.
I know that nobody cares and the problem lies with me.

I think your ex had a toe and ankle phobia. Or something. It's his problem, not yours.

For what it's worth, I also have wide calves and slim ankles. But the only leg issue I'm conscious of is my bandy legs. I don't let that stop me doing anything because for many years now I've realised no-one else in the world has even noticed.
