I'll go first, DD nearly 2yo...

  • Woke at 5.45 am 🙄
  • Squished 2 raspberries in the floor
  • Spilled her milk and made a mess with cereal
  • Moaned for strawberries and now refusing to eat them
  • Spilled her juice
  • Making a high pitch squeal noise for her own amusement

Ruba that was a very fair post and I hope that lady reads it. Of course we all love our toddlers, but most people who have one will see value in a thread like this.

Mine has just poured orange juice on his dad's leather seat (in the car). So I now have to sit here and listen to his dad have a temper tantrum as he wipes it.

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 07/07/2018 13:15

you all seem stupid

But what PPs are describing is the reality of parenting. It is harmful to pretend childrearing is anything less than perfect fluffy rainbows.

SlackerMum1 · 07/07/2018 13:16

Insisted on going on her trike when we had to go to the shops, really really insisted. Half way wants off the trike and MUST be carried. Meaning I have to trek home carrying DD one armed (which is a killer) while pushing trike only to have massive melt down about being back at home and not out on her trike.... 🙈

Threw milk on hotel carpet
Threw salmon at hotel breakfast - dh caught it
Screamed repeatedly in a high pitched voice on the metro
Tried to run off by himself in a busy park
Had tantrum in a park
Had mega tantrum when hotel denied him entry to pool
Theres more but its bed time now

Shouted 'sun cream on' from 6am while holding face cream, nipple cream, and finally sun cream. Sun cream applied.

5 minutes later: 'SUN CREAM ON' cries when sun cream is put away.

Rinse and repeat.

Also 'DUGGEE!!!' whenever we try to watch anything else. We can only watch tv if she's asleep (unless it's Duggee).

And 'where's bear?' Or blanket, or ball, when said item is a foot away.

Also wanted to get down at lunch in a cafe and threw all her food on the floor when told to wait a minute.

She's not 2 until September, and already a tiny dictator.

Was up and down like a yo yo last night, messed about with his nappy so shit leaked out ONTO the carpet. He headbutted his baby brother and has bit me twice. He's bloody feral!

likeacrow · 07/07/2018 13:46

These are soo funny! Cheering me up no end.

Mine has decided to only have 40 mins for her nap. Pretty infuriating.

MakeMineATwin2 · 07/07/2018 13:47

All of the above Confused

TeddyIsaHe · 07/07/2018 13:49

Woke up at 4:30am, and for some unfathomable reason feels the need to rip my hair out of my scalp if I bring her in bed with me.

Also did a huge wee all over the floor and ‘swam’ in it which was terrific.

Oneinthegrave · 07/07/2018 13:51

Only 11 months but...
Saw his brother eating blueberries, wanted blueberries. Got absolutely covered in blueberries. Tried to stand up in the baby bath, as i went to pick him out of it he held on to the side so I ended up pulling a baby bath tub half full of water all over myself and my new livingroom carpet.

Thanks hun

Screeched “that way!” endlessly in the car - inevitably in the direction we’re not going.

Demanded ice cream then wouldn’t eat it because it was chocolate (to please her brother) not vanilla.

Dripped ice lolly all over the newly washed kitchen floor, because Daddy encouraged her to play peekaboo through the kitchen chairs Hmm

Grown up and become a 16 year old - but I don't think that is what you meant.Grin

Isleepinahedgefund · 07/07/2018 15:00

Ha these made me laugh! Such memories of frustration, exhaustion and lovely, lovely memories of toddler silliness that still make me laugh. Mine is 6 now but I remember those days of toddler unreasonableness and the resulting chaos so well.... I looked after my friend’s two yr old the other day and she ran me ragged!

CheshireChat · 07/07/2018 16:12

Our day was going pretty well even though he had to miss dance class as I felt too rubbish to take him, watched ice age and then decided to we should do something that's not screen time Confused so I got a doh Vinci thing out. ..

I miss screen time!
