I'll go first, DD nearly 2yo...

  • Woke at 5.45 am 🙄
  • Squished 2 raspberries in the floor
  • Spilled her milk and made a mess with cereal
  • Moaned for strawberries and now refusing to eat them
  • Spilled her juice
  • Making a high pitch squeal noise for her own amusement

Nothing yet!!! Slept through till around 8- hard to say excatly as nowdays he wakes up and amuses himself quietly in his cot (6 months ago woke up 4times per night and we were up before 6). But I got him up at 8 and now he is eating breakfast and watching peppa pig...he is also being very cute...

But it's early :) I'm sure as a day progresses there will tantrums and we will come back from a park at least once due to toder on the floor screaming and crying due to ice cream melting or because I will eat some to stop it melting or something like that...

KTD27 · 07/07/2018 08:45

Whined at me to make a train track on the floor. Whines because I made said train track. Again with the whining because his train wheels are a little too small for the track and are ‘wobbly mummy’
I’m 39 weeks pregnant so getting down to said floor is a bloody mission!
Also with the lying on me and generally touching me all.the.time.

Oh and breakfast. We asked for weetabix in a red bowl. But what we actually wanted was hoops in a blue bowl. Obvs. Cue tantrum and yep more of the whining.

I blame the heat

BexleyRae · 07/07/2018 08:45

DD is laid on me watching the tablet, not too bad, but she insists on having at least 2 blankets on me before she lays down. I'm bloody boiling. Why do I need to be wrapped up?

ComtessedeLancret · 07/07/2018 08:48

She got bitten at daycare about two weeks ago and now is replicating the behaviour on her 5mth old little brother if I’m not looking.

We also scored a port-a-cot today at a garage sale for baby #3 and DH set it up to check it out, so toddler keeps climbing into it and then chucks a hissy fit that she can’t get out..

It’s still a better day than most lol

MommySharkDoDoDoDo · 07/07/2018 08:49

Same as WhiteCat but there’s still a whole day ahead Grin

Cornettoninja · 07/07/2018 08:55

Usual waking up at an ungodly hour (we don’t all get a midday nap dd) and a fairly prolonged debate about the unsuitably of ice cream for breakfast I.e ice cream? no ice cream? No ....etc

Yesterday was the mother of all hissy fits because the car was not actually parked on the beach and she wanted to build castles RIGHT THIS MINUTE

BexleyRae · 07/07/2018 08:57

DD has just come back with another blanket for me. I'm so hot

Moncwf · 07/07/2018 08:58

Woke me up by flinging himself on my full bladder.
Threw his raisins on the floor and then crawled around eating them off the floor like an animal (that's the last time I take him to a farm park...)

KTD27 · 07/07/2018 09:04

bexley Grin I’m sure that’s exactly what you need in this weather!!

KTD27 · 07/07/2018 09:13

Oh Christ above. Now we are a dinosaur and have wrecked the track and thrown it all over the room.

saturdaynightgin · 07/07/2018 09:13

My 2.5 year old has started the ‘why?’ phase. Been awake half an hour and already asked why about 3687437 times 🙄

TaleasoldasTimee · 07/07/2018 09:17

My DD has done this since she could eat! Throws everything on the floor and eats it up like a dog! We don't have pets neither have we been to a farm!

She's just an animal 😂

Wouldn't accept daddy taking him down for breakfast ("want mummy!"), screamed at the bottom of the stairs when I came back up to bed for my once a week well-preserved lie-in, so now both ds and dp are in filthy moods (as am I). Gah.

squidgesquodge · 07/07/2018 09:22

Reading threads like this reminds me just how different life is with an 8yo & 6yo and that, however cute a friend's toddler was during the 2hrs I babysat her the other day, I do not want a third.
I'm not sure if this will give you hope or make you want to scream with frustration but my two now stay in their rooms until 7am, take themselves downstairs where they can play on their Wii or tablet (neither really allowed during the week), get themselves their breakfast & then either DH or I appear at about 8.30 to take them to their activities which they get home from at 10.00, which is why I still get to be in bed as it's DH's turn today. And they're both off to birthday parties this afternoon at similar times and with complicated village wide left share arrangements going on, we might get 90 mins child free time.
Whilst enjoying this, it does make me realise how quickly it passes and then, being really soppy, I begin to
worry about how short a time there is until they go off to Uni or similar. This is a huge contrast to when I was in the midst of toddler years and used to wonder if there were boarding schools for 2yo.

StillNoClue · 07/07/2018 09:31

Tipped his sippy cup upside down and watched the water dribble over the floor. Me: ds don't do that. Ds: continues anyway Angry.

I left for work 30 minutes early. He's dp's problem now Grin

Cornettoninja · 07/07/2018 10:00

I was in the midst of toddler years and used to wonder if there were boarding schools for 2yo

Soooo, don’t suppose you found one? Wink

Pompom42 · 07/07/2018 10:03

Asked for a cup of cows milk repeatedly then refused to drink it.
Wanted to put her hand in my armpit on and off all day (me trying to explain to her that mummy is so hot) it's been 32 in the South where we are

NukaColaGirl · 07/07/2018 10:06
  • won’t stop touching me
  • is in full Wreck it Ralph mode
  • screeched for breakfast and tossed everything on the floor
  • only seems capable of saying I DONT WANT IT and nothing else
DuchyDuke · 07/07/2018 10:23

I’ve just found out my IVF didn’t work. Would love to have a toddler - you all seem stupid.

Cornettoninja · 07/07/2018 10:30

Genuinely sorry to hear that duchy it’s such a shit siuation. It took me six years to have my dd and broke me in ways that I didnt imagine possible.

But now that she’s here damn straight I’m going to embrace every single part of parenting which includes a whinge every now and then.

In the gentlest possible way, don’t go looking for things to upset you when you’re feeling particularly fragile. It might be different for you but lashing out never once made me feel better even for a second.

SprogletsMum · 07/07/2018 10:32

Woke up at 11pm last night then was awake and crying on and off all night until 5.45am when he made me get up.
Crying because he wants to be on my knee then crying because he doesn't.
In his defence he seems to be coming down with something, but still, it's annoying.

RubaDubMum89 · 07/07/2018 10:33

Duchy - I'm so so sorry your IVF hasn't worked this time, I struggled with infertility before having DD and nearly lost all hope of ever being a parent. However I'm not very much on the same wave length as these women/men re: toddler troubles and I hope you too, someday, are too.

In the meantime however, it's not very appropriate to jump onto a thread containing women/men sharing stories and support amongst themselves and insult them is it? Try to stay positive and don't look negatively on others who haven't done anything to personally target you.

All the best for the future.

Pickleypickles · 07/07/2018 10:37

Got a giant pack of loom bands out the drawer and danced round the living room. I'm going to be finding loom bands for months Angry

GrumpyBagFace · 07/07/2018 10:51

Woke up tired. Wanted to sit on the dining chair his sister was sitting on for breakfast - that exact chair, no other chair would do. Wanted to play sharks and firemen and wanted me to know by telepathy whether we were being chased by a shark or running to put out a fire. Got pissed off because I'm not telepathic. Would not nap despite being tired. Cried at the mere suggestion of a nap. Is now napping and will therefore miss his activity/class - hopefully he'll wake up in a better mood and not mind missing it this week!

bigfishlittlefishtupperwarebox · 07/07/2018 11:53

Has a new favourite phrase apparently. It goes "I don't like it ANYMORE!!" and can apply to food, drink, toys, tv programs, apps on the iPad... she's not two for another month. How long does this go on for Confused
