To be annoyed that Love Island has been pushed back because of the sodding football?!

It was bad enough that we were going to have to wait until 9.30pm, but now it's been pushed back till 10pm and the episode has been shortened to 40 minutes! 40 fucking minutes after that mega episode that ended on a cliff hanger last night!

Not everyone in the U.K. is English, or likes football. When will the PTB realise this. It's bad enough the soaps have been all over the place!

Obviously I am and this is lighthearted but I really need to vent!

I like Love Island I must admit, but I had no issue with waiting for it. It was nice of ITV to show it later so people didn't miss it.

If I was given the choice of watching a bunch of thick, overpaid, knobends running around aimlessly after balls or.....no wait.......

Really pisses me off when people berate something that they think is 'daft' or 'crap.' Maybe Love Island is both, and full of vacuous wannabes, but it is entertaining and massively popular.

Disliking something popular and slagging it off does not make you cool and edgy, or more interesting. It just makes you look like a twat.

Well I'm in Scotland so definitely not an England supporter and I honestly don't see the problem with delaying TV shows for major sporting events. It's not just football it happens with, you see it with a variety of big sports competitions.

We are fed a constant diet of total, abject crap on TV. Moronic soaps, vacuous so-called reality shows and ghastly absence-of-talent shows. Sports fans have to put up with this tsunami of bilge every fucking week.

For a few weeks every four years, however, there is respite. We get to enjoy the World Cup. Russia 2018 has been a superb tournament, with some magnificent games and extraordinary live sporting drama.

Suck it up, Love Island fans.

It was on a different channel so I don't really understand why they moved the timing. The schedulers at ITV/ITV2 must think most of the love island viewers also watch football and they'd lose out on viewers. But as a pp pointed out, it would have been on +1 as well

Maybe because we live in the UK and the world cup is dictating the UK TV schedule!

I've found that those who slag off love island SO very, very relentlessly have never even watched it. If they watched it they'd be hooked like all of us losers. It's some addictive trash. Stick to your football, it requires a few less brain cells anyway 😉

Of course I’ve never watched Love Island. Firstly, I’m hardly a member of the target audience demographic. Secondly, I’m far too busy watching the World Cup!!

But... the point is that they were on two different channels (ITV and ITV2). People aren’t complaining about the show being moved to allow the football to be aired. They’re wondering why Love Island had to be delayed for an extra half hour (padded with the last-minute addition of a Family Guy re-run) just because the football went on longer. That did seem quite weird to me, even as someone who happily watched and enjoyed both.

Presumably the answer is that ITV thought many of the football fans would also want to watch Love Island, so writing it of as just being Love Island fans vs. football fans is missing the point a bit. People can be both!

I did watch it, utter drivel and not Addictive just awful and sad. I’m not a football fan either and not e flush so couldn’t give a shit about and England game but it’s preferable to live island. Two girls at my work drone on about it relentlessly and it’s so dull!
