He isn't their Dad !

Just a bit of background. My ex wife (still married) ended our relationship 18 months ago. She was having an affair with a guy from work. I found it very hard but on the whole have managed to keep things civil. Her and my son and daughter moved out of our family home and in with him after a month. He also had a fiancée who he ended his relationship with and asked to leave the home.
I have my son and daughter every weekend which is fantastic and take them both to their after school clubs each week, although obviously I miss them dearly and wish this hadn't happened. We have a great time together going to football matches and watching movies etc.
My mum is still a Facebook friend of my ex and last week she posted a picture of her new bloke with his birthday cards and gifts from the kids. The card said to a great Dad ! The kids are too young to go shopping alone so I am assuming she picked it out or got them to pick one. I know it is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but it's just a huge kick in the teeth. They are my children he is not their Dad !

You sound lovely, after everything she has done to you you still remain amicable and are there for your children. Sounds like she has lost out.

I wish you every happiness in the future.

What a shit thing to do. Don't let her know how much it hurt, seeing that card. She obviously did it knowing you would see it. If a card made a man a father, it could also work with a woman.......just a thought.

That's a really shitty thing for her to do. I hope you are ok, you sound like a lovely dad

Isawthelight · 02/07/2018 21:47

Her relationship hasn't a hope in hell of working out. Two lying cheaters together, a 'relationship' built on lies and deceitHmm...yeah, that'll work out for the best.

Don't worry, he will never be your kids Dad, she's making a damn fool of herself.

BitchQueen90 · 02/07/2018 21:49

Horrible thing to do. I'm a single parent and I wouldn't dream of referring to anyone else as my DS's dad (or even stepdad for that matter), he has 2 parents - myself and his father and that's all.

nakedscientist · 02/07/2018 21:57

You are obviously a cut above her. You are their dad and no amount of bloody Facebook will alter that.

I remember my dads second wife calling herself my 'stepmother' ha bloody ha! Luckily for the world, she was no ones mother, step or otherwise!

Don't worry, your kids know who is who.
