Sorry, not a trolltactular wind up thread to entertain on a Friday night but a real dilemma.

Ds 5 has a wonderful TA who is is key worker due to ADHD and suspected ASD. She is wonderful and I wanted to get her more than the usual mug and prosecco.

I've seen an online beauty box company that does a really nice lip care collection (lip balms, treatments and lipsticks) and it's bloody half price today! She's in her very early twenties and obviously looks after her appearance so I think this is perfect. However it weirdly contains a condom Confused. Can I still buy it for her?

The obvious thing to do would be to remove it but half the fun of these boxes is opening up all the tissue and packaging.

I can't believe you're even asking!

TiffanyDoggett · 29/06/2018 20:23

Right I'm blaming a bottle of beer and some serious newborn sleep deprivation for this misjudgement!

If she’s a beauty addict she might like a Birchbox or similar. It’s a nice selection of products and you can buy just one, it doesn’t have to be a subscription thing.

Sailinghappy · 29/06/2018 20:24

Please do not do this - I would be insulted if I was in her position!

TiffanyDoggett · 29/06/2018 20:25

I'll try birch box. This is beauty box which I'm a bit addicted too.

100% no.

Can’t believe you even thought it could be a possibility.

YourVagesty · 29/06/2018 20:26

We need a link OP! What an odd combo.

Nice thought though, what a shame about the weird inclusion of the condom.

TiffanyDoggett · 29/06/2018 20:28

@YourVagesty it's the Beauty Box Eve Appeal box. It's so lovely apart from the condom.

Ginkypig · 29/06/2018 20:29

You must post a link to it now!

Why the hell would a condom be in a makeup kit!

Well I can think of one reason but if it is that then it's gross!

PorkFlute · 29/06/2018 20:29

If you removed it but it was still listed on the box it would be almost worse. It’d look like you’d pinched the condom to use and just given the rest!

Ginkypig · 29/06/2018 20:29

Cross post!

MyDcAreMarvel · 29/06/2018 20:32

The condom is meant to apply make up with.

I'm old and not at all "with it". Even I can see at hundred paces what all the mouth related products and the condom is about. It's making me cry with laughter that this even came close to being an end of year present for a TA. And I never usually laugh at stuff on line. But all credit to you for taking the universal "no" in good part.

Now - where's the nice Woods of Windsor soap?

BakedBeans47 · 29/06/2018 20:34

I’m loving the way it tells you the condom is a full size product !

Mummadeeze · 29/06/2018 20:35

This made me laugh too. Am sure you can find a nice lip palette that doesn’t include a condom!!! I definitely wouldn’t get it for her.

TiffanyDoggett · 29/06/2018 20:36

@LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood I'm laughing too now. But back to square one with a nice original present for a TA. But that's a different thread...

I would die if a student gave me that at the end of term. Get her some wine.

NotTakenUsername · 29/06/2018 20:40

Is this it??

Yea, the nipple balm might be a bit Hmm too!!

“There aren’t many products that have as many uses as Dr.Lipp’s cult Nipple Balm. In fact, Dr.Lipp acts as a one-step product for dry skin, luscious lips and glossy bits.”

Masterbuilders · 29/06/2018 20:41

Oh my god no!

TiffanyDoggett · 29/06/2018 20:42

@NotTakenUsername hey now I've had a dr lip balm for years. It's for mouth lips!!! It's just plain lanolin ok breastfeeding my new one I may have used it when I couldn't find the lanasoh!

That beauty box is amazing!!!

Findingdotty · 29/06/2018 20:43

Buy it and take it all apart and rewrap/package in a new bag or basket or box. Easy.

On a side note I'd check the names/slogans on the other products. To have a condom in a 'normal' gift packet would be very unusual. You might find they have some interesting named lip balms, etc.

NotTakenUsername · 29/06/2018 20:44

It’s the ‘glossy bits’ that made me blush! Blush

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 29/06/2018 20:46

I have just looked it up and I would get it. It is a lovely gift and the condom is hardly a durex one it is in very discreet packaging.

It is in conjunction with woman’s gynaecological cancers so can see why a condom is in there.

Dibbosteme · 29/06/2018 20:46

It would be ok from a friend the same age, not from a pupil's parent though.
