Once upon a time I had a baby girl. I did all the mum stuff. I combed the lice from her hair, I did PTA, we baked, I read all the classic children’s books, I was a ballet mum, i did homework projects, I made her clear up her own puke after she drank too much vodka and I did hugs, mopped tears, had fun, shouted occasionally, drove her to stations and airports and everything else in between. Nothing out of the ordinary.

And then that baby went off to university and only went and got herself a First. And a proper grown up job.

And you know what? She did good and so did I Grin

Read it twice as you sound exactly like my friend speaking, but she wouldn't have baked so can't be her! Did make me shed a tear though

ALemonyPea · 27/06/2018 20:58

Well done Gherkin and Cornichon 😁

eggncress · 27/06/2018 20:58

Being a mum is a tough job so it’s great when everything turns out great !
Well done you and congratulations to your dd WineStar

dementedma · 27/06/2018 20:59

aww well done. DD2 graduated with a first last year and it was so hard to believe that the fat, smiley baby with masses of untidy hair was now a slim, smiley woman with masses of untidy hair!! (unless ruthlessly straightened).
Last night, school refusing, "going to leave when I'm 16", hate school DS (16) lumbered across the school stage to pick up his merit award for coming top in music technology and I thought I was going to burst!

Wind in the willows, peter rabbit, Anne of green gables, the Phoenix and the carpet, Winnie the Pooh, the sheep pig

I so hope I can be saying the same about my trio in years to come! Well done, be bloody proud. That’s what parenting is all about, seeing your hard work paid off with amazing children- regardless of what they are amazing at..... currently just hoping they wash and tidy occasionally😂😂😂

MrsMozart · 27/06/2018 21:01

agnurse · 27/06/2018 21:03

Raising a child to adulthood and making them into a decent human being is not always an easy task. Great job!

Pigflewpast · 27/06/2018 21:05

Brilliant demented

MsHomeSlice · 27/06/2018 21:05

it's like the life time option of the daily mantra "everybody fed, nobody dead"

Well done Gherkin!
