To never go near DS’s nursery again

Winosaurus · 26/06/2018 20:50

I was in a rush this morning and asked DD8 to get the white envelope from my room that has DS’s nursery forms in... she ran up, grabbed it and then I handed it into the school office without looking.
Turns out there were 2 white envelopes in my bedroom.
Two identical envelopes on the side in my room...

  1. Contained DS’s nursery forms
  2. A picture of me very drunk in swimwear whilst on a girls weekend away

Guess which one ended up getting handed in to the school office this morning 😩😭😂

I. Want. To. Die.

Oh I am embarrassed for you!!!

MrsKiplin · 26/06/2018 21:00

I work at a nursery and trust me you are now their favourite mum! Laugh it off because they will!

lilyboleyn · 26/06/2018 21:01

On the other hand, you will have made the office staff’s day...

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 26/06/2018 21:01

Grin At least your application won't be forgotten!

AlwaysDancing1234 · 26/06/2018 21:01

The office staff will love that, they will not speak of it to other parents but I guarantee you’ve cheered them up!
All you can do is brazen it out, apologise and back out the door quickly 😂

Winosaurus · 26/06/2018 21:05

Luckily (or maybe unluckily) one of my friends works their. They were all crying with laughter when they handed it back to me Blush
I have visions of then photocopying it and it being on display at parents evening or in DS’s “home journal”... “This weekend mummy went away with her friends and got off her tits on champagne and was photographed wiggling her boobies on a sun bed” 😂😭

I know laughter isn’t what you’re looking for but that’s just hilarious (sorry!)

Winosaurus · 26/06/2018 21:09

Ffs 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
PLEASE does anyone have a more embarrassing story they can share?

Jammiebammie · 26/06/2018 21:13

Oh my word Grin not good for you, but hilarious for the office staff (and for us!)

To maybe make you feel better... I’ve posted before about this, but my friends son took a ‘tickle stick’ into school and had it taken off him in the playground - the school phoned my friend asking if she wanted to come in and pick up her vibrator Shock she told them to bin it as she was too mortified to collect it, but I think she was secretly gutted as it was an expensive one!

Winosaurus · 26/06/2018 21:17

That’s brilliant Grin
My friend’s DD once took “mummy’s dress-up outfit” to a school show and tell... it was a pink babydoll negligee

Winosaurus · 26/06/2018 21:18

Also I may now call all vibrators tickle sticks 😂

found a photo of me taken getting ready for my wedding in basque, suspenders, knickers, stockings etc. Taken over 30 years ago when I was very slim. took a photo of it on my phone to send to my best friend for a laugh - lets call her Michelle.
Had recently met an american business man for contract negotiations in work.
lets call him Michael......

You can figure out the rest

Racmactac · 26/06/2018 21:27

Hilarious Grin

dementedma - Shock Blush Grin

How on earth did you explain that away?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/06/2018 21:29

Not quite as bad, but when DS was in nursery they had half doors (stable style) on all the rooms. So a child standing at the door of DS's nursery room could see someone walking across the art room towards them, but the people inside the room wouldn't be able to see because of the angle. One day I was wearing a skirt (a full, below-the-knee style) when I picked him up and DS happened to be peering over the door and he started yelling "Mummy, you've got no trousers on. Where are your trousers? Mummy did you forget your trousers?" By the time I got to the door the other Mums picking up were staring at me as I came through, and the Dads were making a very clear point of not looking anywhere in my direction. Grin

dementedma · 26/06/2018 21:33

I just had to eamil him and apologise over and over and say obviously it wasn't meant for him. I was MORTIFIED!

Winosaurus · 26/06/2018 21:36

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 These are making me feel lots better! Keep them coming Grin

NC in case...

I showed my daughter a bowl which would be perfect for her coffee table in her new swanky flat. Said bowl currently contains detritus- Disney wrapping paper, screwdriver, non-winning scratchcard etc. It also, apparently, contains a shrink-wrapped (shrink-wrapped, mark you! Not been used!!!) "Vibe Ring" purchased from a very salubrious club by my partner. Said child's step dad. This was/is also sporting a post-it note annotated "Awoooooooooga"

I can only think we were having a gladiator themed evening one night and things got carried away. But not that carried away, as the item is still, as I mentioned, shrink-wrapped (as is the vibe ring.)

The bowl, you'll be surprised to hear, is still at home. As is the vibe ring and the partner. The child has disappeared. (Back to her new pad, said child is 20!)

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 26/06/2018 21:37

I used to work in a nursery

There was a child who was toilet training and going through lots of clothes. Bringing a big bag for life of clothes each day.

I suspect these were scooped straight from the dryer or clean washing basket and that is how mums period stained knickers found the way in to nursery....

Winosaurus · 26/06/2018 21:40

NOOOOO that is mortifying *Ivegotfamily
That poor woman must have died! Did you have to hand them back or did you just bin them and say nothing?

Itchytights · 26/06/2018 21:40

GrinGrin

Loving these

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 26/06/2018 21:43

We didnt know what to do so they lived in the bag for a while....it was taken home and topped up daily, eventually decided she was unlikely to ask for them and binned them.

Now i always check my dcs clothes like mad before they go in pe kits etc incase any smalls are in a sleeve etc!

SaltyPeanut · 26/06/2018 21:47

At a friend's wedding. I'd had a few was three sheets to the wind and was leaving.
I kissed the bride and groom on the cheek and wished them many happy years together.

The "groom" said, "thanks but the Groom is my brother" and proceeded to piss himself laughing.

I was so embarrassed.

Fernweh · 26/06/2018 21:52

Omg thank you so much OP as I've had a bloody shit day, and screwed up my (yet again) diet with malteasers (box of) and several rhubarb and ginger gins.

I've had a few cringy moments over the years and I'm glad I'm not on my own got caught by now hubbys family shagging him when we were much younger and didn't hear them over the erm.., ecstasy there's still certain people I can't look in the eye!
