To think I've stumbled on an Ebay perv?

Selling a secondhand item. Near new quality.

Think I must have accidentally used one of the phrases that they use to identify items...

Received a question - does the item have any marks and was it worn with underwear?

AIBU to think this is one of those buyers who wants, ah, used items for personal satisfaction? (I read about it on here first!) Shock

I suppose my next AIBU is to wonder if there's any money in it...! Grin

Why would anyone buy a second-hand leotard anyway? It'd be like wearing second-hand knickers.

TornFromTheInside · 24/06/2018 21:32

Free gift = the woman's husband

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/06/2018 21:33

I’ve sold shoes in the past, one chap bought 3 pairs.

ReanimatedSGB · 24/06/2018 21:33

I'm always hearing about how you can make fortunes selling worn shoes to perves. I have tried several times with no luck. I think you really have to work at it.

Some people really don't have a lot of money. Or perhaps the leotard was a specific design and to be used for some play / panto / whatever?

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 24/06/2018 21:34

Apparently, if a listing says that the clothing will be "cleaned to eBay standards" or "according to eBay regulations" that means it will be filthy.

OP it sounds like your potential bidder wants the leotard to have been worn with underwear, but with eBay you never know (I've been a powerseller for over 12 years and I could tell some real stories, and I only sell craft supplies!).

SimonBridges · 24/06/2018 21:43

There is the random bloke who sells badly photographed tat for loads.

FatBarry · 24/06/2018 21:43

God yes, search Used Worn Tights. It's horrific but they are at 12.50 with 8 bids.

WingsOnMyBoots · 24/06/2018 21:44

Ugh!

catburgers · 24/06/2018 21:45

Trashed shoes sell well- especially if they are a size 8 or over, pictures are taken of them on your feet or you can see the indentations of your feet in them.

And if you find the right buyer, hair scrunchies and used socks also sell well.

To avoid the whole giving your address out thing you can use couriers that ship from shop to shop.

But yeah, there's a fair bit to be made selling to pervy people. At least a food bill a months worth.

TornFromTheInside · 24/06/2018 21:47

Blimey, I need to wash my laptop after having a look at that stuff

Dionysus78 · 24/06/2018 21:51

I once tried to sell an old pair of converse on eBay, and got a message asking if I'd got any really old slippers I'd like to sell Hmm

holyshitdude · 24/06/2018 21:53

I've just looked, cabin crew seems to be another code word, they're selling well.

BitchQueen90 · 24/06/2018 21:54

I've sold shoes on Ebay before and was sent a message offering me £40ph to do "foot worship" sessions! Googled it and it's men who like to massage your feet, want you to walk on them etc Shock

Trialsmum · 24/06/2018 21:54

Isn’t anyone worried about pervs getting hold of their DNA via these ‘filthy’ items? 🤢

MongerTruffle · 24/06/2018 21:59

I'm catching up on Orange Is the New Black and coincidentally I'm on the part when Piper starts a worn panty business.

TornFromTheInside · 24/06/2018 21:59

I've just been offered £50.00 for my y-fronts... unfortunately it's to keep 'em and bugger off.

bobstersmum · 24/06/2018 22:03

Righto I'm proper skint at the mo so will have a go at this! What's best to try. Tights. Wear them while the weather's hot then list them? Or I'm pretty sure I've got a rake of high heels in the loft from my more glam days? Or do I just go for knickers?

category12 · 24/06/2018 22:04

Um, what do you think they'd do with your DNA, Trialsmum?

TornFromTheInside · 24/06/2018 22:04

I don't think it matters if they are worn or not, they just need to believe they are worn!

Ilovelblue · 24/06/2018 22:04

My friend and I started doing eBay as a bit of a hobby and to raise some extra cash a few years ago. We were told that air stewardesses' tights and shoes sold well. We were very naive and quite shocked at the time. Soon after that, we went away for a city break abroad and started laughing as the stewardesses were walking up and down the aircraft. I think the other passengers thought we were loonies.

SendGinQuick · 24/06/2018 22:08

Blimey, who knew, the darker side of eBay Shock gives up on any thought of going back to work after having kids and starts rummaging through drawers and cupboards

Ilovelblue · 24/06/2018 22:11

Also we were told "adult baby clothes". I nearly persuaded my Mum to start knitting large baby booties!

KakunaRattata · 24/06/2018 22:11

Does the washed to ebay standards mean they're not washed? I can't believe anyone would want to smell my feet.

TornFromTheInside · 24/06/2018 22:15

I think the kink is mostly mental, and they want to believe something's been worn. Maybe the smell just provides additional evidence and arousal for them?

God knows. It's one thing to like wearing your partner's jumper, quite another to get off on a total stranger's clothing. But each unto their own I suppose.

I think the stewardess thing is just adding to their fantasy woman.

I wonder if selling to these men is 'enabling' them in some way? is that a good thing, or a bad thing?
