School blazers are £35 each. I have 2 son's.
Money is so tight right now.

I've just seen that Asda do navy blazers.

I'm thinking of in picking the pockets from their old blazers and sewing them onto asda ones

Total cost £20 for 2 rather than £70

Do you think the school will object?

When I was at school (which admittedly wasn't yesterday), our parents were given details of a 'suggested supplier' (as our uniform was green, so not necessarily the easiest to find), but as the school crest was sold as a stand-alone iron-on patch, you bought a blazer and then stitched or ironed on the crest to the breast pocket.

Is that not how things are done now? Do you actually have to buy the blazer with the badge on it as a whole thing?

Seems a bit mad. Everybody I've ever known who either went to a school with a formal uniform or who has children who do so has bought blazers as I've mentioned.

My mother was a great one for buying uniform to 'grow into' (thanks, mum! /s), but there was one year when I had a massive growth spurt and went through two blazers in one school year. If she had had to buy two bespoke versions, rather than one 2nd hand which she then transferred the crest onto, that would have been a bit pricey
