No that’s quite high. I don’t accept children with temps 38+

Newhouseyeah · 22/06/2018 06:59

Do you run a nursery Georgie?

Lorraine265 · 22/06/2018 06:59

No of course not

AgentJohnson · 22/06/2018 07:00

Hell no.

BlueBug45 · 22/06/2018 07:00

How old's the child?

BertrandRussell · 22/06/2018 07:00

Why did you take his temperature?

Pastaagain78 · 22/06/2018 07:01

No

Jengnr · 22/06/2018 07:01

If he’s fine in himself I’d send him in, warn them he had a high temp and be prepared to have to leave work early if need be.

Nicknacky · 22/06/2018 07:01

I assume your child is unwell in some way if you are taking temperature?

Newhouseyeah · 22/06/2018 07:01

Took temp because he felt hot. He's 15 months. When he's been ill before it's been VERY obvious and temp has been sky high so 38 something doesn't seem too bad by comparison! Sounds like he's having a Daddy day though!

No way, and I'm quite relaxed about temperatures.

woodywoo2 · 22/06/2018 07:04

No absolutely not

Pippioddstocking · 22/06/2018 07:04

Absolutely not , it's not fair on your child or the other children.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 22/06/2018 07:04

I’m a childminder

user1483387154 · 22/06/2018 07:04

Not when over 38

Sashkin · 22/06/2018 07:05

Personally I’d dose him up with calpol and shove him out of the door, but it isn’t the right thing to do. Nursery may well call you back to pick him up again.

(I should note that I’d never send mine with anything contagious, just normal toddler snuffles).

Camomila · 22/06/2018 07:08

No. Temperature usually peaks in the afternoon - if its so high now, it might get up as high as 39 later.

Hope he feels better soon!

bumbleymummy · 22/06/2018 07:08

No, no nursery today. Hope he feels better soon.

People shouldn’t be ‘dosing up with calpol’ to get their children into school/nursery Hmm

Snowysky20009 · 22/06/2018 07:09

Def not

FriendsDontLie · 22/06/2018 07:12

When I worked in a nursery, it is incredibly obvious when a child has had calpol. So please don’t do that! We would have sent a child home if they were .5 degrees higher than the highest range, so 37.7. 38+ is a fever

Monny1 · 22/06/2018 07:15

Definitely not!

Gammeldragz · 22/06/2018 07:17

No. He's probably contagious.

Sharkwithknees · 22/06/2018 07:17

My DD could seem fine as a baby with a temperature, then suddenly be very ill with it. It's a pita I know, but I wouldn't send her

TheFirstMrsDV · 22/06/2018 07:22

You don't send kids to nursery or school with a temperature.

Riddo · 22/06/2018 07:22

I'm a childminder and won't accept a child with a temperature over 38. Partly because of the chance of infecting the other mindees but mainly because a child with a high temperature should be in the comfort of their own home.
