PSA: Queer Eye is the best, most inclusive, most warm-hearted and delightful thing you can watch on tv at the moment. I wish there were a thousand episodes.

If you haven't watched the new version can I please implore you to get yourself on to Netflix and start experiencing the absolute joy that awaits you.

Ah thanks, im on on season 2 yet

PamsterWheel · 21/06/2018 09:36

Love them all and desperately want to be their bff

Hont1986 · 21/06/2018 10:15

Haha yes Bobby must be working like crazy to get the house done in a week, meanwhile Antoni shows someone how to slice an avocado.

pointythings · 21/06/2018 10:23

We love it. It's so refreshing to see something on television where people are just kind. There isn't enough of that around.

FluffyMcCloud · 21/06/2018 10:32

I was put off by the first episode being called You Can’t Fix Ugly but thought I’d give it a go - they’ve just told the man he has to throw out his pyjamas because women don’t have sex with men who wear pyjamas.
So far it all feels very superficial. But I will persevere as so many people seem to love it!

ALittleAubergine · 21/06/2018 10:42

I tried to watch an episode after hearing so many people rave about it. Seemed overly soppy and a bit awkward for my liking. Might be a grower though.

Celebelly · 21/06/2018 10:47

I love it! I want Jonathan to be my best friend. And I don't even care if Antoni can cook or not as he looks SO GOOD IN A WHITE T-SHIRT.

I think Bobby is great. He's probably the most low-key of them all but he's super talented. I'm also obsessed with the absolute neatness of Karamo's five o'clock shadow. It's like it's been tattooed on.

Pretty sure that's a direct quote from the guy they're making over.

bananaboats · 21/06/2018 11:00

I love it too! Watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 & cried at both!

SnartyFartBlast · 21/06/2018 11:04

Wonderful life affirming positive love that motivates me to be a better person and get more out of life.
I wish there were a million episodes

SnartyFartBlast · 21/06/2018 11:06

Also, I really feel like Jonathan and me would be best friends forever.

MissionItsPossible · 21/06/2018 11:09

@Joinourclub
I don’t get it. Isn’t it just what Gok used to do?

Well not really seeing as this show aired before his.

MouseRatFan · 21/06/2018 11:17

I am obsessed with this show. It is so warm and comforting. It just makes me want to be kinder to people around me after watching. I make a real effort to pay people genuine compliments now after seeing how the fab 5 are with each other.

I love them all but Bobby kills me every time when he talks about his childhood Sad.

They are all on insta and are very funny. I also found Mama Tammy on there too...

Don't be put off! That show title was a quote from the man they were assisting, who felt that he wasn't worth helping. But the episode was all about how he is worth taking care of and deserving of happiness and self-respect.

I get that bits of it may seem superficial (like the fashion and beauty aspects) but actually I think the main focus of the show is showing people the importance of self-love, and helping them to recognise their own worth and value. There have been some really incredibly conversations about self-acceptance and taking care of yourself that I think are really important messages for people to hear.

'It's not vanity. It's self care'

You said it girlfriend!

pigsDOfly · 21/06/2018 11:53

Of course it's superficial FluffyMcCloud. That's the whole point of it.

I used to watch it when it was first on tv with my DD when they were in their early teens. We never missed it, it was such a cheery sort of programme.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 21/06/2018 12:16

I like it. I'm part way through the second series. But, it did irritate me in the last episode I saw, that Tan mentions he and his partner are having (have had? not sure) a baby, and there was some throwaway 'oh of course we have a surrogate but' line. I felt as if that was glossing over things a bit too easily.

But then, the bits I like best are when they talk about their own lives a bit more - especially when they've ended up having conversations about being black and gay, or being from a religious background and gay. I'd be interested to see more of that. I find the US cultures they're showing really interesting.

Piffle11 · 21/06/2018 12:58

Oh I used to love Carson Kressley from the original version! He was so funny. And I had a bit of a crush on Kyan the hair guy. I could never get away with the British version, I just didn't warm to any of them. Might give the new series a go.

buckeejit · 21/06/2018 13:57

Ooh mouse, now I have to join Instagram. I left my gay friends in the city & have none in my small town home so I can live vicariously through the fab 5!

PamsterWheel · 22/06/2018 15:36

OMG Just watching ep 3 of the original series (missed it first time around).

WTF is his girlfriend's deal???? Jeez, I hope he binned her after the show.

flumposie · 22/06/2018 16:34

I love the fab 5. So positive in all they do. Such good hearts. Nearly finished series 2. I love hearing Tan's Yorkshire accent, stands out for me as a Yorkshire lass myself. He's from Doncaster originally Smile

TheLiarTheBitchAndTheFloordrob · 22/06/2018 16:37

I love it and I am going to marry Antoni. Haven’t read the whole thread but they have released a bonus episode filmed in the town of Yass 🙌🏻

IveHadPraiseIveHadRidicule · 22/06/2018 16:45

The fireman episode was hilarious. I can't help but feel Karamo is better groomed than Johnathon (who has strange yellow make up round his eyes).

I actually love how the very pretty Antoni puts oil and salt on EVERYTHING. It's how normal people cook really to make food that bit tastier.
