To call 111 for my DS?

GetInMyNelly · 19/06/2018 16:40

In Kitchen with DS tidying, turned my back and when I looked back at him he had the container for the e liquid in his mouth.

It wasn't open, just had some around the outside of the container, I took it straight out of his mouth and binned it (didn't even know I had it).

I think he's been sick a little bit. He seems fine but I'm worried now.

That's what they are there for.

HerculesMulligan · 19/06/2018 16:41

Phone 111. Why wouldn't you?

DashingRed · 19/06/2018 16:41

Vape liquid?

It's extremely toxic stuff, so yes I would call them.

Are you sure the bottle was completely empty?

BarbarianMum · 19/06/2018 16:42

What does it say on the container. Is it marked as poisonous or an irritant?

PopTheDragon · 19/06/2018 16:42

Yes either phone them or your GP for advice. Try and have the container to hand so they can have as much information as possible.

DashingRed · 19/06/2018 16:43

If you ingest the liquid, you don't have to swallow much of it to cause serious harm

lardymclardy · 19/06/2018 16:44

Call them.

nottinghillgrey · 19/06/2018 16:44

I don't know what e liquid is.

How old is your DS?

LartenCrepsley · 19/06/2018 16:46

What is e liquid? Is the vape stuff? Or detergent? Either way, you should call 111. They’ll be able to advise and reassure you.

mcfifi · 19/06/2018 16:48

Call 111 right now. I looked it up. Toxic if swallowed, very toxic on skin ... seek medical help immediately ... show label where possible.

GetInMyNelly · 19/06/2018 16:49

WizMix
10ml - 6mg Nicotine.

Says : Keep out of reach of pets & children. Seek medical advice if you feel unwell

Phone them. Get off of here and phone

BarbarianMum · 19/06/2018 16:50

He'll probably be OK if the lid was on but nicotine is nasty stuff. Personally I'd call them.

Lindy2 · 19/06/2018 16:51

Has he been sick or not? I'm confussed as to why you've said you think he's been sick. How can you not know for sure.
Also, how old is he?
If a child has been in contact with a toxic liquid and eaten some then yes, you should seek medical advise asap.

WigglyBlossom · 19/06/2018 16:51

I'd take him straight to A&E and take the bottle as well OP. I'd imagine that 111 would advise the same.

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/06/2018 16:52

How old is he?

Ellapaella · 19/06/2018 16:59

Phone them. They can all the poisons line if necessary and advise you.

GetInMyNelly · 19/06/2018 17:02

He was sick a very very small amount.
It was more around his mouth than any sick going anywhere.

He is 14 months old.

Knittedfairies · 19/06/2018 17:08

Why won’t you call 111?

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 19/06/2018 17:11

Have you called them yet?!!

HighwayDragon1 · 19/06/2018 17:16

I have a very dim view of parents who don't get medical advice for their children after an accident. Accidents happen, and noone will judge you for that, but not calling for medical help is shitty parenting

Redglitter · 19/06/2018 17:16

This drives me nuts. Why on earth waste 25 mins on here looking for opinions. If you phone 111 and they don't think any medical attention is needed they're not going to send you a huge bill for wasting their time.

I wouldn't even think twice. I'd have been on the phone to my GP or 111 when it happened. I wouldn't be fannying about asking people I don't know for advice on what to do

pandamodium · 19/06/2018 17:21

You need medical advice not MN.

Accidents happen and are excusable but not seeking medical help isn't.

MrsJayy · 19/06/2018 17:23

Just phone them hopefully you have by now i would imagine it is quite toxic so you want to make sure the baby is ok.

SoddingUnicorns · 19/06/2018 17:23

Call. Now. Nicotine is one of the most poisonous substances in the world.

And lock away your e liquid.
