To ask how you pack your toothbrush and shoes

I feel like I'm old enough not to be asking this!

I usually throw my tooth brush in the wash bag. Sometimes I wrap loo roll around it. I don't have one of those nifty toothbrush head protector thingys. Where would I get one? Are they necessary?

And shoes? I usually put them at the top of my suitcase, soles facing up towards the lid of the suitcase. I feel that's so unhygienic though...

What do others do?

Toothbrush in wash bag, shoes on top of case soles up. Flipflops in net pockets inside case lid

Ultrasonic toothbrush has a strong plastic case which came with it and the base and the toothbrush heads clip into it. Toothbrush heads each have a Perspex cap for the bristles. Manual tooth brushes have plastic cases which fit over the bristle end.

Shoes and sandals get put in to plastic carrier bags before putting in the case. My walking/beach sandals get loads of sand in them, no amount of shaking gets it all out and I’d rather it didn’t go in my case.

Ok so I'm not alone in just packing it all together. I'll keep an eye out for the toothbrush protectors but won't lose sleep over it. I might put my shoes in plastic bags from now on!

shoes in plastic bags, toothbrush I'm not fussy about. Extra plastic bags come on holiday for dirty washing, super dirty shoes etc.

Toothbrushes inside toothbrush head covers (pack of 4 from Boots).

Shoes inside shoebags - cheap cotton drawstring bags from Amazon. I used to use carrier bags, but now there aren't millions of them hanging around any more I can't always find them when I need them. (I also pack big cotton drawstring bags from Amazon for dirty laundry. As I type this I realise that I am somewhat obsessively organised.)

I can't stand the idea of shoes rubbing up against clean clothes. Ugh.

I wrap shoes in plastic bags and tie the top up.

I am funny about shoes though, I can't bear them in the bedroom/on the bed/next to the bed at all. I take shoes off at the door so there is very little reason for them to ever be upstairs except for storage.

I also never ever put the suitcase on top of the bed to pack it, it goes on the floor (not the bedroom floor though!) The thought of having a suitcase on the bed that's been thrown against dusty/dirty plane cases or next to other peoples' cases which are filthy... ugh. And before anyone says anything about that, it's why visitors are not allowed/encouraged to sit on a patient's bed in hospital because their outside clothes (and any bugs) transfer straight onto the patient's bedding and it's a infection risk. So it's not rubbish.

Toothbrushes go straight in a waterproof toiletries bag but then there's only deodorant, toothpaste and a shower gel in there with it.
