He’s just awesome. He so cuddly and funny and cute...
He had a nasty accident back in October and broke lots of bones and yet he has recovered so well. He smiles all the time.

YABU (though his smile is gorgeous!) This was the best dog ever... handsome, cuddly and as daft as a brush. I must have been holding food when I took this pic as there’s no way he’d have sat that still otherwise! He died three years ago and I still miss him terribly- want to get another dog when the DC are a bit older but genuinely worry I’ll never love another dog as much.

I'm offended that Bob was called a lurcher. He was a bloody greyhound! I mean really, I'm very triggered right now 😂

You're all wrong. This was the goodest boy ever. He was my family dog from when I was 16 til 31. He was the most loyal, gentle, clever, soppy, daft, playful, amazing dog ever. He was my Benny Boy, and was a staffy x ridgeback.

He died of pancreatitis 20 months ago, and I still miss him every day.

Mine is the best. He even has a hobby; he collects socks.

@bridgetosomewhere we had been away on holiday and this woods is our favourite haunt, she was so happy and content!

This is my current boy, he's 5 years old and daft as a brush. He is a good cuddler, knows when I'm sad and brings me toys to make me smile.

He is playful and protective, and amazingly patient with kids. While he will never replace my Benny Boy, he is special in his own way as he has bonded with me, and is the 1st dog that is truly mine rather than my parents'.

Ahh Fizzy it hurts doesn't it. I miss Bob every day. He wasn't a 'dog'. He was my friend and I miss my friend every single day.

BastardMS it hurts in a different way, I think. We've had a run of deaths in my family the last few years, including my last 2 grandparents, and while these have all hurt a lot, when my Benny died it hurt in a way that seemed, I dunno, the only word I can think of is "purer." Probably as the thing that made Ben happiest was pleasing his humans. He used to go around the house each night checking everyone was home. When I was pregnant, he would snuggle my bump, and was so gentle and protective of DD when she cam along.

Mine is the dearest darlingest dog. Two new metal knees in the past year and he's still going strong. Bit of a rascal. But he's my rascal

I hear that Bob died on the 26th January, my dad died on 24th January. I like to think my dad needed him more than we did.
