AIBU to name my first car?

So I have bought my first ever car, Ronnie the Renault.

My son (13) has refused to get in it and cringed himself inside out that I have named it.

So AIBU to name my car and if not, what have you called yours?

We had Betsy and Sasha

My current car is called Helga

Sasha was my favourite Helga is practical but not as pretty as Sasha

YANBU, OP. My first car was a Vauxhall Nova called Dino. Current car is a VW Polo called Rudolf - because he's red and I got him at Christmas

We had Shakira the Zafira who liked you to shimmy when you turned the ignition on. She was followed by Rolf the Golf AKA Rolfy baby.

My zafira was just called the baby wagon. The touran was the teen wagon. And now I have milly the Morris minor

My daughter had a mini but she disagreed with my suggestion Minnie driver

Every car I have is named.

My first car was Roger! Then I had Monty and now I have Norman.

I've always named all my cars.
ds uses my cars names, and is currently deciding on his new car's name.
When your dc are 13, you don't need to do anything embarrassing to embarrass them - you just have to exist.

DP thinks his car is called Compost.

The rest of us know it's really the Jojomobile.

My first car was a box viva - and unoriginally as the reg was LUW486D - I called him Lewd
Then a DAF called daffy
Then Sydney - I bought him from my dad, and his middle name was Sydney
Then a Rover 😬
Then my favourite vw golf called Bessie - we all loved Bessie!
And now a jazz called Rosie!

Have been driving for about 20 years. On car no 5 and I have never ever named one of them, not once.
However 2 male friends over the years have had "The Red Bear" (it was a red corsa , he himself was, um, hairy) and "Blue Thunder", a blue passatt.

My first car’s numberplate told me his name - Kilovolt Kevin.

I named my little cars but not my big cars.

I've had 2 old fiestas called Ewu & Soo and a street ka called Rio - they were on the number plates so not very imaginative.

Then I had an RCZ which didn't have a name but lots would call it the boobie car.
My Range Rover doesn't have a name, sort from what I mutter when I'm paying for all its fuel!

Mine was called rapid Dave, after a mouse at my best friend's workplace who died the day i bought the car. I also didn't realise it had a turbo or how to activate it until my brother showed me the same day (with much laughter on his part that this was the car I'd bought). It felt like fate.

I'm not a car namer but it's your car, do what you like!

I did however name my stapler at work.

I drove a Peugeot 206 called Pug until I rolled it and wrote it off! The medical staff (who were absolute champs) asked me in the ambulance if the car had a name and I said it was called Pug, and they said oh how awful it's like losing a family member, there'll be a gap under the Christmas tree this year! I was so impressed with how kind they were to me. (I was in my late teens)

I then had an alfa romeo Mito which I called the Mighty Mito, and then a Golf which never had a name (German cars have no personality!) and now I have another Alfa, a Guiletta which I call Gekko (registration is GEK)

My guiletta is Julia. My last car C class estate was Wilhelm but big black willy was his pet name. All my cars have had names.

My husband has a volvo S60 which I think is a very old man's car. To his disgust I refer to it as the Zimmer frame

My first car's letters were SAG. She was therefore called Saggy! None of others were named though. Just the Micra, the cee'd, etc.

I had coco the Clio and a pink ds3 called Penelope pinkstop 😂 penners for short, and jazzy fizzle the juke!

I had Minty the Polo, Marilyn (she was red and sexy....) the Corsa and now Frank the Fiesta. YANBU

My first car was named Goolie. No idea why!
