To buy some nets

So, my vertical blinds in my living room have seen better days and need replacing. AIBU to be considering getting some nets?!

I think they are quite pretty and money being tight they are the cheaper option to cover my two large windows.

What do you think? Will I be made a laughing stock of in our street Grin

I wondered if they were coming back into fashion as I was walking around a housing estate recently and noticed that there were quite a few nets where there definitely wouldn't have been, several years ago. I even contemplated doing a thread about it.

I thought voile was a french word, I've been pronouncing it vwaol... as in voila! vwaola!

lardymclardy · 08/06/2018 10:25

I can't find the right letters for the phonetics!

snewname · 08/06/2018 10:31

V oil?

snewname · 08/06/2018 10:33

Or perhaps Vwoil

So nets are ok if we call them 'voiles'....

If you like nets, get nets. I never understand why people care what anyone else thinks when it comes to decorating your home. My place is Victorian with quite traditional decor, so patterned nets suit my place anyway. But I don't give two hoots if people think they're hideous. I live here and I like my house.

Shutters sometimes just look wrong from outside.
