AIBU being upset with FB woman

I sold a laptop on Facebook it was sold as seen but it worked fine

She was happy with it and handed over 350 pounds and I have her the passwords I offered to do a factory reset and remove the passwords she declined stating that she would remove them when she got home and assured me she would do it so that my photos etc where wiped

6 months later she still had not done this and moaned at me because not being able to print etc and she said she lost the printed out password

I tired to help but I couldn't and she got very angry and defensive and started blaming me saying it was my fault for setting the password

I've now blocked her but no thanks no nothing for being up till 3 am trying to get the firmware password turned off

I managed it in the end by trying every password I ever used and then she changed her tune

I said I am glad it's sorted because I never want to deal with her again

Was I wrong to blog her and be upset when she lost the print outs and then went on a angry rant blaming me for her misfortune?

@UserV I agree I would rather buy a new laptop but I needed the money otherwise I wouldn't have sold it but I got it new and uses it for Apple music, browsing and movies

After finding out Apple store the passwords in a keychain and anyone who logs in can decrypt them with the press of a button means that I would never want an apple Mac again because even iCloud passwords for email get dumped in the vault and can be revealed

Says the person who sold a laptop without wiping it.

SparklyMagpie · 04/06/2018 19:38

I'm still trying to get my head around this

SparklyMagpie · 04/06/2018 19:40

@FuckPants ahhh you beat me to it 😂😂😂

UserV · 04/06/2018 19:40

Never knew it was a mac as you never said in your OP janice..... Would have helped if you had said in the beginning. I didn't notice 2 tiny letters indicating it was a mac much further down the thread. Many others didn't either, as a number of other posters thought it was a normal laptop too.

As for the rude fucker (fuckpants,) who said I know FUCK ALL about anything, you could have just said 'it's a MAC userv, did you not notice in the OP's post at whatever o clock.' No need to be so rude and nasty and obnoxious! Hmm

RideSallyRide76 · 04/06/2018 19:41

Hope you are getting help for your ptsd now and feeling a bit better op. I guess we all live and learn don't we so yes block and move on. I'm not sure op deserves the level of unpleasantness aimed at her. Message revived now!!

FuckPants · 04/06/2018 19:48

Have you been on the sauce UserV?

I think you need to dust off your Hitachi and give it a whirl.

DeepFatFriar · 04/06/2018 19:48

UserV · 04/06/2018 19:50

I had no idea it was a macbook either

Thank you @Rousette

Lots of people didn't. The OP never mentioned it.

HappilyHarridan · 04/06/2018 19:51

Slanging Match! If we want to be correct!

Carry on! 😀

daffodillament · 04/06/2018 20:11

Ah, shame UserV It's hysterical. Don't get 'joke' about Hitachi though?? Is that referring to a cheap laptop or something ?

BalaBrith · 04/06/2018 20:12

Omg😂

Bibesia · 04/06/2018 20:15

UserV, can I suggest a look at the MN rules, particularly those around personal attacks?

ButchyRestingFace · 04/06/2018 20:15

It's not just Macs that are expensive. I've seen gaming laptops retailing for £4000+ in John Lewis.

This thread is great, btw. Grin Grin

itsBritneyBeach · 04/06/2018 20:16

OP, you did a stupid thing but if you've done your passwords etc just learn from this lesson.

Also yes @DeepFatFriar I am pissing myself 😂
