To buy nephew a present to piss off SIL

BIL and SIL have done something to royally piss us off today, have spent the whole day fuming. Basically they are selfish £@&@'s.
Anyway it's our nephews birthday next week and we love him and want to get him a nice present (he's 5), what's the most annoying thing we can buy him that he will love and they will hate?! Grin

A mud kitchen.

Tinkobell · 04/06/2018 07:43

Kazoo, voovoozela. Face paint set. Anything glittery. A hamster in a cage (they're nocturnal). Bit mean using a little ones birthday to vent your anger though. Think about it.

RomeoBunny · 04/06/2018 07:45

Buy him a kids steel drum! (Carnivale style) He can play all he wants and you'll piss off half their postcode.

ragged · 04/06/2018 07:48

One of those animatron animals, that meows or barks etc.

My nieces and nephews are all adults now but things I have bought in the past include a floor piano, remote control car that made a noise as well as flashing lights and Plasticine, lots of it. I think I bought a worm world, or it might have been the ants one.

A friend's son got a metal detector that beeped all the time it was on.

Marble runs can be fun.

EnglishRose13 · 04/06/2018 07:53

I've threatened to get my nephew a slime making kit if my brother doesn't give me any other ideas. He said it'll be going straight in the bin. Prick.

ArghWhoAreYou · 04/06/2018 07:54

If you love him, buy him something he’ll like.

Battleax has never met a five year old if she's concerned glitter, drums, playdough and moon sand won't be loved

RJnomore1 · 04/06/2018 07:55

A recorder. He will LOVE it

Noqont · 04/06/2018 07:55

Maybe spend the time trying to rebuild your relationship with your sister in law rather than thinking of ways to make it worse.

MissusGeneHunt · 04/06/2018 07:56

A violin. You never know, he might love it and turn into a virtuoso, thus opening up a new world for him, but those months of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star will be excruciating.... Seen half decent ones that look good for less than £20.

There is a difference between buying him something he loves and buying him something his mother will hate.

PunkrockerGirl59 · 04/06/2018 08:00

You beat me to it Missus I was just about to suggest a violin!

IME these things are almost always one in the same.

SilverHairedCat · 04/06/2018 09:43

Something lovely.

And a kazoo.

londonmummy1966 · 04/06/2018 09:53

One of those voice changing loud hailers - my SIL bought both my DC one for Christmas when they were 3 & 4 - nightmare... I've never forgiven her.

Kocerhan3 · 04/06/2018 10:04

A recorder. 100%. Drums can't be moved around and follow you round the house.

frankencandy · 04/06/2018 10:16

Oh actually. World cup coming up.

vuvuzela

You are welcome OP>

IME these things are almost always one in the same.

Except in intention.
