I earn 35000 or thereabouts. Its not terrible. It means I only get cb.

After bills not much left.

How do people do it?

If you are paying £1600 childcare costs that is a lot.

My DD has a 6 week old and a 2.8 year old. She has two free childcare days (only part time hours 9am to 3pm) by us having the toddler as DD on maternity leave and has baby and my son in laws parents having the toddler one day too. Three part days nursery. Next January when DD goes back to work we will have both baby and toddler one day as will other grandparents and 30 free hours paid for toddler on 3 days so just baby to pay for. She planned the gap so she only pays for one child at a time. I think her childcare bill is less than £400 after childcare tax paid but that is on part time wages.
