To not understand Zoflora?

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 01/06/2018 09:03

I like nice smelling cleaning products - not lemon or pine, nice soft scents. I usually buy lavender Flash.

My cleaning reigeme consists of bleach for the loo and loo floor, flash for the other floors and hard surfaces, antibacterial spray and washing up liquid.

On a whim the other day I bought Zoflora when Flas was out of stock.

I genuinely don't understand where to use it? I can't use it on kitchen surfaces (says so on the bottle) it's not a 'soap' so doesn't actually clean dirt on floors - just sterilises as far as I can work out (why would I do a second mop to sterilise my clean floor?? Again, as per bottle instructions)

OK I can chuck it down the loo neat - but it costs a bloody fortune and the bottle is tiny, compared to cheap bleach it seems such a waste!

So please, tell me IABU and all the wondrous things I can do now I am the proud owner of a bottle of bluebell Zoflora?!

(yes I probably ABU to not have thought off this before I bought it, but I was distracted by a toddler...)

You can dilute it in a spray bottle and use it anywhere.

Mammyloveswine · 01/06/2018 09:06

Oooh I love zoflora! I use it on my door frames and in the bathroom (after cleaning with cif).

I also use it to wipe over my sofa.

Mumtothelittlefella · 01/06/2018 09:07

I used it to clean my kitchen yesterday- had no idea it couldn’t be used for surfaces 😦

Grumpyoldblonde · 01/06/2018 09:09

The Zoflora website says you can use it on kitchen surfaces and gives loads of other uses.

RibenaMonsoon · 01/06/2018 09:09

They do a gorgeous cinnamon scented one at Christmas. I use mine everywhere diluted in a spray bottle. Use it on floors and the house smells devine!!

vampirethriller · 01/06/2018 09:10

I dilute it 40:1 and fill an old spray bottle, then it can be used anywhere as you would antibacterial spray.

MissMarplesKnitting · 01/06/2018 09:13

Yeah it's also very handy when mopping up potty training accidents, vom etc.

Water it down a capful to a big spray bottle and use as antibacterial type spray. I use it daily on loo and taps etc for a quick wipe round in the bathroom and on the kitchen tablecloth (oilcloth).

Chuck a capful in the loo overnight and itsmells nice too. I'm a fan of the pink grapefruit but I don't see it very often!

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 01/06/2018 09:13

I put some on cotton wool and put it in the cylinder of the vac. It makes the house smell lovely when I vac.
I bought the honeysuckle and jasmine one this week. It smells lovely.

Capfull in the washer with dh’s stinky kit sorts that out.

It’s good down stinky drains too.

Reaa · 01/06/2018 09:14

I use it diluted in my steam mop.

Reaa · 01/06/2018 09:15

Apparently you can put a capful in with a wash in the washing machine.

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 01/06/2018 09:15

Mum the bottle I have says due to the highly perfumed nature it taints food - I'm sure it won't hurt you.

Mammy but you've cleaned with Cif - why are you cleaning it again?! Disclaimer: I hate cleaning and the thought of cleaning something already clean just bewilderers me... The sofa thing is interesting though - how much do you dilute it for that?

Grumpy but I can't use it 'anywhere' I have wood furniture so can't use it on that, can't use it in the kitchen, I've already bleached the loo and round the bath (mould). Mopped floors with soapy water, where's left?!

wowbutter · 01/06/2018 09:16

It dos clean though. I use it to freshen up sweaty beds, in carpets, I use it to clean the bathroom and the kitchen. It's really good, and at less than a quid a bottle, it can last me six months.
Dilute it into a spray bottle, or put it in your mop. And use like flash.

wowbutter · 01/06/2018 09:17

I use it on wood, and uis it to clean wooden floors?

TheShapeOfEwe · 01/06/2018 09:17

The cinnamon scent is my favourite thing Grin

FASH84 · 01/06/2018 09:18

I use it in the loo, kitchen sink after viakal which stinks, kitchen surfaces, use it with boiling water in the washing up bowl for sponges/cloths every evening. On cottonwool in the hoover, i soak the inside of the kitchen bin once a month fill it up with water and zoflora and leave it all day then empty and rinse. It's good for anything a bit stinky. Also I bought a giant bottle in b and m for about £2.50 DH did not understand my excitement

MissMarplesKnitting · 01/06/2018 09:18

Ooh and you can bung it in the conditioner tray in the washing machine and it'll antibacterial your towels, make them smell nice and give the washing machine a wee freshen up too. Also works on hubby's grim running gear....

Grumpyoldblonde · 01/06/2018 09:19

But you can clean the kitchen. Look on the website for useage ideas.

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 01/06/2018 09:23

OK, I've dragged the bottle out of the cupboard!

It says not to use in food contact areas, as may taint.

And says pets can't walk on wet floors, so my cat scuppers that one...

Sofa sounds interesting (but worried the cat will immediately want to sit on it Hmm)

Washing machine sounds interesting too - is it OK with colours?

And I like the hoover idea - I can do that, even the cat doesn't go INSIDE the hoover!

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 01/06/2018 09:25

wowbutter it says not to let it contact polished wood - maybe floors are different?

OP posts:
Grumpyoldblonde · 01/06/2018 09:41

The food contact means chopping boards and the like.

As I said the website had lots of ideas for use.

Roomba · 01/06/2018 09:44

I assume it means neat with the wood thing. Undiluted it may leave marks/rings. I've used it diluted on all sorts of wood and never had an issue.

FASH84 · 01/06/2018 10:04

I have a cat and use it on my kitchen floor, I just mop the floor and close the kitchen door for a bit or do it when the cat is out

Notso · 01/06/2018 10:06

Food contact means chopping boards or for washing dishes I think. You don't directly chop on or eat off your worktops to you?

I use it in a spray bottle instead of a cleaning spray. It cleans fine and lasts for ages.

InspMorse · 01/06/2018 10:09

Always use it on kitchen surfaces.

We haven't died yet & our food doesn't taste of perfume either!

OhCheersForThat · 01/06/2018 10:13

I use it in the loo and diluted to mop tile floors in bathroom & kitchen. It does clean floors. I also use it diluted to clean skirting boards, windowsills, fireplaces etc.
