Love that there is a National day for biscuits. What’s your favourite? Mine has got to be a Fox’s triple chunk cookie

Happy National Biscuit day, biscuits!

I love you all, and will never play favourites. Given time, I will eat every one of you.

BasicBetty · 29/05/2018 11:33

Chocolate Bourbon all the way.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 29/05/2018 11:34

I couldn't possibly pick. Anything with chocolate and I like jam and cream Viennese fingers too.

NoParticularPattern · 29/05/2018 11:37

I also have different “grades” of biscuit. I think my favourite “standard cup of tea dunker” biscuit is a malted milk. Just the cheap ones. Nothing fancy.

Then there’s the intermediate ones- the ones that don’t need dunking to be amazing (but it doesn’t hurt!!) but aren’t really posh so I think that’s probably a custard cream.

Then proper posh biscuits which are definitely only bought when you want to look fancy and are definitely branded (or at the very least a “finest/extra special” type one) that would probably be Ringtons all butter Sultana cookies. I’d probably eat my weight in those if I wasn’t poor!!!

Plain digestives!!

Frosty66612 · 29/05/2018 11:40

Just remembered that the Co-op do amazing lemon and white chocolate cookies.

Gesu · 29/05/2018 12:53

UpstartCrow you can't say those are the best bisuits in the world without sharing the recipe! Grin

Choco Leibniz (sp?) for me too! Or those Tunnocks caramel wafers!

CrazyHippo · 29/05/2018 21:11

Chocolate malted milk or fruit shorties for me.

Who remembers their mum/dad/grandparents buying boxes of broken biscuits when you were kids and almost having a full bust up with siblings to find the best bits first???

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 29/05/2018 21:12

My absolute favourites are dark chocolate gingers.

I have lived and worked close to two separate biscuit factories - friend used to live across from the Deans’ Shortbread factory, and I used to work near Burton’s Biscuits. Fond memories...

Sunnymeg · 29/05/2018 21:13

Mine would be Lincoln Biscuits, but they haven't made them in years.

ProzacAndWine · 29/05/2018 21:15

Ooh, now I have a good justification for baking biscuits earlier! Almond butter ones, in case anyone cares. Grin Biscuit

I'm going to join the Choco Leibniz camp wrt shop bought ones.

WittyJack · 29/05/2018 21:16

This one! Biscuit

I love:

milk chocolate and salted caramel or white chocolate chunk cookies.

M&S melt in your mouth chocolate chunk shortbread with sugar on it.

Timtams

Jammy dodgers (but only the ones with cream in them)

I don't care about the law or the facts - Jaffa Cakes!

Custard creams - an often underrated classic

TerfsUp · 29/05/2018 21:16

Biscotti and florentines. And Viennese fingers. And lovely soft chocolate chip biscuits that I remember from my childhood but can no longer find in the shops. Oh, and pink wafers. And chocolate wafers. And savoiardis.

sigh

Darned low-carb diet.

Toomanycats99 · 29/05/2018 21:20

Shortcake biscuits (the rectangular ones with lines round the side!) preferable Sainsbury's. Not so keen on the version you get in the quantity not quality selection boxes you get at Xmas.

A plain digestive. McVities only and within a couple of days of opening the packet max.

HyacinthsBucket70 · 29/05/2018 21:21

Dark chocolate florentines, and stem ginger cookies. Mmmmmmm.

NotTheMrMenAgain · 29/05/2018 21:24

Rich tea, rich tea, rich tea - or it's smaller , thinner cousin the morning coffee.

I like fancy biscuits and cookies but for the biscuit purist I think rich tea is the winner.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 29/05/2018 21:29

Sunnymeg Lincoln biscuits are widely available in Ireland, and I see them in odd places in the UK too (assuming we are talking the plain shortcake type biscuits with bumps on top).

I was raised on those, dipped in weak orange squash to alleviate the dryness.

calzone · 29/05/2018 21:32

Honestly I love all biscuits......

From the humble rich tea biscuit to a lemon crunch to a fat chocolate chip cookie.

I can’t think of a biscuit I don’t like.

ForalltheSaints · 29/05/2018 21:33

Jaffa Cakes.

BiscuitMachine · 29/05/2018 21:55

Yay a biscuit threadSmile
I love all biscuits that can be dunked. Oooo, biscuits.
Malted Milk (aka cow biscuits)
Digestives (of all types)
Ginger nuts
Tea Biscuits
Custard Creams
Jammy Dodgers
Foxes crunch creams
Lu petit ecolier (aka boy biscuits)
Shortbread
Chocolate fingers!

I could go on...
