DH licking his plate every dinner time

AIBU to be annoyed by it?

Nearly every time we eat something, he licks the plate clean like a bloody dog.

Long, big licks up the plate.

I cannot stand it! It doesn't gross me out, I just find it so outlandishly lacking in class Envy

AIBU? He says he's just enjoying his dinner, every bit of it.

Grin my DH does this every night and I always tell him off! It's not exactly classy but if it's your worse gripe you're doing well!

Cauliflowershower · 25/05/2018 20:15

That is really grim even by my low standards. Can’t he use s piece of bread at least?

Justmuddlingalong · 25/05/2018 20:16

Serve it in a dog bowl tomorrow. That should be a big enough hint.

DryAsThingysFootwear · 25/05/2018 20:16

Get him a glass one so he can still see the telly Grin

SpecialAgentNobody · 25/05/2018 20:17

My ex used to do this. Bleurghhhhh.

Oral sex was never the same after I’d seen him going at a plate like a slobbering Labrador.

Gardai · 25/05/2018 20:17

Boak
Ltb

Melfish · 25/05/2018 20:17

He's obviously enjoying the food or perhaps saving on washing up?

Flaminglingos · 25/05/2018 20:19

Does he do it at home only or while you're out at restaurants?

UserV · 25/05/2018 20:19

I agree with serving his meal in a dog bowl.

What a grubby thing to do. Gross and ewwwwwwwww.

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 25/05/2018 20:19

This really, really grosses me out and yet I regularly let my dog finish off the milk from my cereal Blush

Coolaschmoola · 25/05/2018 20:19

Envy - not envy. Filthy.

Allabouts · 25/05/2018 20:20

Well, I don't do the cooking or dishing up in this house so I can't put it in a different piece

He also leaves pieces of washing just outside the wash box

I suppose washing up is easier with him doing it, no little bits of food to harass me

UserV · 25/05/2018 20:21

Ask him if he would do this when he is out in public.

Bet he does massive burps and smelly farts too, and picks his nose, AND does really loud sneezes...... (But does none of the above in public.........) Wink

bassackwards · 25/05/2018 20:23

I have never seen someone do that!

Allabouts · 25/05/2018 20:23

Won't even go in to the amount he passes wind Envy

I hope you don't have dc...

halfwitpicker · 25/05/2018 20:29

Does he cook the food himself or do the staff?

Ethylred · 25/05/2018 20:29

Dog bowl.
On the floor.

Well if you don't do any of the cooking/dishing/clearing or washing, then what the fuck do you actually do, in regards to food? Hmm I can't see that you've got much to whinge about, frankly. If he's licking olates in public, that's one thing, but otherwise, let the man enjoy his bloody fiod!

pallisers · 25/05/2018 20:30

I'd leave him. Well in fairness I wouldn't have married him in the first place - if you went into it with your eyes open, I suppose it is a bit late ...

still I can really see SpecialAgentNobody's point

IHaveBrilloHair · 25/05/2018 20:31

No.
Revolting.

pallisers · 25/05/2018 20:31

If it is ok to do in front of OP why isn't it ok to do in public?

deste · 25/05/2018 20:31

As pallisers said.

Allabouts · 25/05/2018 20:32

Namey I wash up, I clean.

He cooks the meals

When ive been reading mumsnet recently it occurs to me that perhaps im fully feral. It does seem like everyone on here is living in the victorian times on an estate and they all put on formal attire for dinner.... put frills round the legs of pianos so no one gets offended... never put the bins out unless youve got your bonnet on...

Am I literally the only person on MN who thinks that your house is a place to relax in? and if you wanna wee in the shower, lick your plate, hang the washing out in your nightie.. then you bloody well should be able to? I mean life is too short for this nonesense really.... I can understand adopting some manner of formality in front of guests or out in public... but why do people get so outraged by petty stuff people do thats a bit slobby in the privacy of their own homes?
