Maybe a proper homemade steamed ginger pudding, generous with the chopped stem ginger and sauce, and served with a creme anglais (proper) custard and good ice cream.

I replied then read the thread and there are only 2 others who have said the same as me! Jam roly poly and custard is the food of gods... is this a bad time to say I've never tasted Eton Mess? and I'm 40 oops

I’m shocked no one else has chosen ile flottant with a sprinkling of toasted almonds and a little caramel. It’s not too sweet and tastes light. Creme angliase is much nicer than custard.

I like wagamamas white chocolate and ginger cheesecake but it’s very sweet so I think I might get sick of it after a few days.

Cherry pie with either vanilla ice cream or custard.

@zoflora you definitely need to give Eton mess a try, it’s so good! I’ve never tried jam roly poly (shameful I know) so i’ll need to give that a go soon

I once had a chocolate orange truffle cheesecake that was perfect. Just perfect. I'd have that with a dollop of extra thick cream.

And the truffle - made it extra specially nice. And it was in Zizzi's of all places, on the special board.

@auntfidget Zizzi’s do great desserts. Other chain restaurants are often pretty poor when it comes to desserts which is a shame (had a cheesecake at Pizza Express once and it was crap)

There should be a tapas equivalent for dessert. Like, lots of mini desserts and you get to share and taste them all
