I’ve had friends of Friends who went and had amazing views and a fantastic day - so
Annoyed with myself for not going !!!!

Oh no, all those crowds and heat and noise, it looked beautiful but only because I lay on the sofa with a glass of champagne in my hand as I watched.

insancerre · 20/05/2018 08:15

No
Couldn't have cared less to be honest

happymummy12345 · 20/05/2018 08:17

No, I hate the royal family and am glad it's over. Didn't even watch it.

GuntyMcGee · 20/05/2018 08:23

No, it's too far so we'd need an overnighter and no way I could afford all the overpriced hotel offerings, made even more expensive because of supply/demand/hotelier greed.

I had a lovely view from my TV and didn't have to stand in hot sun all day long.

FowlisWester · 20/05/2018 08:25

We live very far away and wouldn't even consider it but I did have a split second when we were watching and dd 4 gasped and said can we go mummy please 😁

NeedForBlossom · 20/05/2018 08:29

No. We live in a nearby town and it was lovely and quiet!

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 20/05/2018 08:31

Crowds , heat , noise , public transport crush , no toilets , no water

NO ! That’s the recipe for an anxiety attack right there !

Oblomov18 · 20/05/2018 08:31

No. Not that interested. Live not that far away and all my friends were chatting online about how the whole area was gridlocked.

Ohmydayslove · 20/05/2018 08:31

Preferred where I was to all those crowds but thought it was a stunning wedding and the weather made it perfect

SensoryOverlord · 20/05/2018 08:34

I'm regretting not going to Legoland yesterday. Apparently it was empty and no queues...everyone avoiding. We debated risking it, thinking everyone might stay away but we weren't sure if it would go the opposite way so didn't bother. Gutted.

As for the RW...spending the day on a pavement or strip of grass somewhere whilst jostling to get to the front of the cordoned off rope for a fifteen second glimpse of two people whizzing past - yeah, not for me.

Chachachac · 20/05/2018 08:34

No. Definitely not my thing, heaps of crowds and not much to see.

Clearly many, many people do love that sort of thing though so good luck to them! It’s just really not my cup of tea.

Perfectway · 20/05/2018 08:37

If I could actually walk there I would have gone but the logistics of it eg travelling, parking, toilets especially with children, just no.

DarklyDreamingDexter · 20/05/2018 08:38

Hell no! Travel nightmare, horrendous crowds, hanging around all day for a few seconds glimpse as they whizz pat in a carriage, getting up at the crack of dawn to bag a space 10 rows back?! Nooooooo

BigGreenOlives · 20/05/2018 08:38

Sensory We tried to book tickets to Legoland yesterday using the Times £12 ticket deal and couldn’t, the day was blocked out. I think they probably only let pass holders in.

fairiesandelves · 20/05/2018 08:41

OP I am with you there. After seeing all the crowds must have been an amazing atmosphere. Actually planning to go to Windsor next weekend after kind of forgetting what a stunning town it is.
I'm just watching the whole wedding again ! Loved every bit of it. What's not to love ! In the words of that fab preacher - two people fell in love and we all showed up !!

Petalflowers · 20/05/2018 08:46

Yes for the atmosphere and occasion. No for the crowds.

Hollyboobieboo · 20/05/2018 08:47

No way. I got to see the whole thing from the comfort of my lounge. Considering all the people camping over night for the past two days to get the best views ( a quick glimpse of a moving carriage!) I highly doubt I’d have seen as much as a blur. Then there is the parking and being drained by the zilllions of people that would have been there.

qu1rky · 20/05/2018 08:48

No. I hate crowds and being hemmed in.
Plus why waste the beautiful weather stuck for 6 hours in the car Confused?

tinytemper66 · 20/05/2018 08:49

No

Mummyoflittledragon · 20/05/2018 08:51

Dd asked me why we didn’t go. And I said I am far too ill. I did look out of curiosity at a hotel room, where I could have sat and watched. But it would have blown our entire holiday budget. It was horrendously expensive. Dh isn’t interested and we stayed at home. Good choice for our family.

postcardsfrom · 20/05/2018 08:54

Nope! Not for one second, didn’t even watch it on telly. Spent the day out with kids at a festival, had drinks with friends and got home long after it was over. It was a fabulous and fun day! Watching the wedding of some ransoms I don’t even know was never on the agenda...

Mariele · 20/05/2018 08:55

No

bumblingbovine49 · 20/05/2018 09:00

I am. I am not much of a royalist but I did attend the 25 cironstion anniversary and Chatles and Diana's wedding and I like the memories and to be able to say I was there. I still quite vividly remember my glimpses of the queen and Disna in the open carriage as it went past. If that makes me a sap/sentimental so be it. I am no fan of crowds but I don't remember those from 30 yes ag or much of the detail of the days really, just the atmosphere, feeling happy and the amazing colours and pomp of the processions and ceremonies etc.

DH and ds unfortunately would rather eat their own livers than attend though. They loathe crowds (both have ASD) and don't think much of the royal family at all so.had no interest in evenwatching on TV. I still mihht have gone on my own (as I did to Diana's wedding) but I visit my mother in her care home on Saturdays so we watched together along with the other residents Smile

BanginHeadache · 20/05/2018 09:10

YES- just for the occasion! Can't say I have ever been a massive Royal Family fan- neither here nor there with how I feel about them BUT yesterday I was SO over invested in the wedding Grin and was really peeved I wasn't in the crowd although I never ever had any intention of going anyway but watching it made me want to be there!

SouthWestmom · 20/05/2018 09:37

It just is a bit icky I think - like sleeping in the streets to catch a glimpse of people who are no better than you, just born at the right/wrong time. Id find it humiliating to be stuck behind a barrier reaching forward to be touched by a royal.

The whole thing has really made me rethink my passive acceptance of the royal family.
