Such as playing happy hardcore in their garden at 10 in the morning.

I have only lived in my house for 4 months so early days yet. So far the neighbours all seem nice enough and pretty quiet. One neighbour has been very helpful from helping us unload our removal van to helping cut back the very overgrown hedge and grass.

We are in a semi and our immediate neighbour has 3 children (youngest about 7 I would guess) but you rarely hear a sound from the house. I think we must have thick walls. They do though have a small dog which they tie up in the garden every day from about 8am to about 10pm. He yaps a lot but mainly I feel sorry for him as he was out there in the bad snow and now we have some hot weather he is out there with no shade. He can't move that far even though our gardens are pretty big. A lot of the time the woman is home so I can't understand why the dog is stuck outside on his own.

I did try in a friendly and roundabout way to speak about the dog but she made it clear she wasn't interested.

I have a masturbating neighbour. Loud, (and I mean Harry Met Sally LOUD) and at random times through his wide open bedroom window . This is in response to me placing a planter containing 3m high bamboo obscuring his view due to him haranguing me from his bedroom window every time I had the audacity to set foot in my back garden. The police had to visit him to tell him to remove the camera he had pointing at my back door.

Can't stand the rancid bedroom dwelling creature!

ny20005 · 20/05/2018 14:18

My neighbours adult son hangs out his bedroom window smoking & taking on his phone

His mother has all her phone conversations in the garden 🙄

ReverseGiraffe · 20/05/2018 14:37

Upstairs neighbours are okay, next door neighbours are lovely but the lady is very quiet. Other next door neighbour is brilliant. We get on really well!

However, there is a lady 2 doors down who is in her 70s and occasionally BLASTS music so that the whole street can hear it. And then we have the psychopath down the road who spreads rumours about everyone, is allegedly a paedophile, threw tomatoes at my windows, eggs on my car and Friday night put a brick through my DP’s van windscreen. Oh, and made a complaint about me to my DP’s employer Hmm saying that I was vulgar. Which is hilarious because I have anxiety and so confrontation is not really my thing...

Mycatsarebetterthanyours · 20/05/2018 14:41

We live in a private road and the 5 houses share a bin store. One house can't be bothered to put their rubbish in the bin, they leave it outside. They also do this with their Christmas tree which the council doesn't collect so stays there months. They've been asked numerous times to use the bins properly but they don't. So small but so irritating.

HateSummer · 20/05/2018 14:42

Always looking outside the window when we go outside. The kids start peeping through their curtains and then open the windows and start calling my kids. Every. Single. Time. I hate going outside in the garden incase they’re spying on me. I can imagine the parents spying too. They have a massive garden like us but don’t clean it so the kids hardly come out to play. Big waste.

Mycatsarebetterthanyours · 20/05/2018 14:43

Wind chimes

These should be made illegal.

Icklepickle101 · 20/05/2018 14:47

Next door is very OCD about their drive being clean and are currently jetwashing it 3 tines a week. I’m being completely irrational as it’s no bother to us but I can never tell the difference once he’s finished Grin

The other side are lovely but lonely old people sonif we see each other in passing I get caught chatting for nearly an hour normally!

BelieveAnything · 20/05/2018 15:03

I have low key Nieghbours and generally everyone is quiet and respectful. The Nieghbours kids kick their all over the fence a lot but they are very polite when I throw it back.
The only thing that bugs me are the Nieghbours Who think it's ok to let their yappy dog bark and bark and bark and bark. It's so selfish of them. I'm glad it's not at night time but even so it's really irritating. I don't understand how it doesn't irritate them.

BelieveAnything · 20/05/2018 15:03

Lovely not low Key

Bluelonerose · 20/05/2018 15:07

Well atm ndn 5 year old ds is telling his mom "go fuck yourself you fat fuck I'm not going out" Shock
Could do without hearing that while I'm trying to clear the garden Hmm

paceyswife · 20/05/2018 15:08

Whenever I entertain in the garden (prob max 8 times a year) with external people rather than just family our neighbour gets his power tools out. It's actually really starting to get to me

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 20/05/2018 15:15

I'm convinced people think of their garden as a sound proofed room.

Earlier I was listening to the 20 yo daughter of the neighbours talking with her stoner mates. Jeez they chat some shit and have no concept that some things are best not said in earshot of half the street. They were extra loud as they were also listening to some music played through a tinny phone speaker by the sound of it.

SluttyButty · 20/05/2018 15:20

I have nice neighbours now mostly. We all take care of the front of our houses so they look nice, only the odd couple leave their bins by their front doors rather than at the back. That doesn't annoy me but when they leave them skew wiff I get tetchy.

Old neighbours inbred, web footed morons just had to still be alive in the morning for me to get annoyed. They moaned when our dog barked at the postman everyday, she stops once they'd gone. But their dog howling and whining all day whilst they were at work was fine. They also had the pressure washer out cleaning the off road motorbike that was taken out on sundays, to clean all the mud off. The bastard thing just went on and on so you couldn't sit in the garden without being deafened and sprayed with water as the breeze blew it over. We moved.

Old,old neighbours. Partied every Friday and Saturday and ever weekday until 3am shouting "go on my son" encouraging everyone to dive bomb in the pool. We moved from them too.

I'm never moving house again now we finally have nice, quiet, polite neighbours. Although the kids are irritating me outside but that's because I don't have young kids anymore so my tolerance levels are low Grin

Liberation1 · 20/05/2018 15:26

Pacey 8 times a year, if you mean on a weekend and in the summer when it's nice then that could be either every weekend for 2 months or every other weekend for 4 months. Depending on context obviously (there's a vast difference between having a few friends over for a social drink and a bite to eat and having lots of people all being loud with music/drinking/loud raws of laughter etc) a neighbour who gets his power tools out is obviously peeved at the noise level that sounds like it's every weekend/every other weekend over the summer period.

Hearing neighbours have a bit of chatter and a drink is one thing. Having lots of people making noise outside when the weather is nice is really grating! I have come in several times because I can't sit and enjoy my garden without twattish neighbours out in their garden being noisy. Once someone's voice gets on your nerves it really eats away at you just the very sound of hearing it.

Smile1978 · 20/05/2018 15:33

Neighbour who keeps using my bin so cheeky two full bin bags on the last time I caught her.Bags had her children's school reports in so knew it was them .Knocked on the door and gave them back to her the response as oh my husband must have done it

sockunicorn · 20/05/2018 15:41

Shes 91 and EVERY time my DDs are playing outside she comes out to play with them. She chats to them over the fence and usually then comes over to play football/stick her feet in the paddling pool with them. Hmm

Shes a lovely woman, sees her own sons but her grandchildren dont bother with me. And I dont have the heart to ever tell her to go away!!

Queenoftheblitz · 20/05/2018 15:44

Last night I was the nightmare neighbour. People round to watch the wedding.
Lots of prosecco ending in a screaming match between me and one other."fuck off" was used liberally. Oh the shame. I haven't taken out the recycling for fear of being seen.

TooManyPaws · 20/05/2018 15:46

I'm in my dream house; the nearest neighbour is a field away. They feed my cats when I'm away and the woman loves my dogs.

About the only annoyance is the Call The Midwife sounds during calving and the grain drier after harvest.

Bliss after years of nutso neighbours.

DonkeyPunch88 · 20/05/2018 15:52

Side one hunts us down through the hedge every time we use the garden. She can babble on for hours about what everyone else in the neighbourhood is doing and why she hates them all. She's an elderly lady who I suppose means well but is incredibly nosy and shameless about it. I try to avoid eye contact at all costs and she's quite bitchy so I assume she talks about us in the same way.

Side two does DIY at every opportunity no matter what time of the day. Hammering, drilling on and on. In the years we've lived here I'm convinced he's rebuilt his entire house piece by piece Grin

VileyRose · 20/05/2018 16:01

I had awful neighbours at my last 3 address but this time it's wonderful. Been here 3 yrs. No issues. No annoyance. Perfect.

DonkeyPunch88 · 20/05/2018 16:09

YourHandInMyHand I've just realised I could have written your post! That's exactly what we have here too, I feel we have the same neighbours Confused

puddleduckmummy · 20/05/2018 16:10

Have bbqs at the faintest whisper of a sunny day, which they don't clean out so it smells utterly rancid and is positioned pretty much as close to our house as is possible so all the rancid smoke and smell come in our house, meaning we can't have the patio doors or windows at the back of the house open when it's hot 😡😡 and a million kids screaming and bellowing in the garden at unnecessary volume

Lou0390 · 20/05/2018 16:21

Elderly neighbour always wanting a chat about his health including his bowel movements Confused this is every time I go outside....

megletthesecond · 20/05/2018 16:27

Everything. I miss my old neighbours.
