Why do people do this and how do you react ? I feel so uncomfortable as I never know what approach to take with them!! Mostly neighbours or people you used to work with/be closer to who live in the same area.

I have neighbours like that, we are similar ages, DC close in age.

Their always smoking at their front door, it is a small cul de dac so I have to pass them. Sometime they say hi, other times they turn their back.

He will give a smile and wave if he is alone, but the weirdest thing sometimes she will stop on way to school and have a chat, other days she walks by silent. 🤔

Weirdos.

Oh thanks fuck there are other faceblind people here

I’ve failed to recognise variously, my dad, husband, sister and child out of context.

It’s bloody embarrassing

I realise that the entire world doesn't revolve around me and don't even think about how often people say hello to me, that's how I "deal" with this completely none thing.

I'm amazed by the number of faceblind people on here. Usually no-one's heard of it.

My neighbour's daughter does it - but it's very, very deliberate because she doesn't do it when she 1. wants something or 2. someone else is around. If it's just me and her - I am dead to her. I have tested this theory over the years. It's not like I'm out of context either - I'm still next door Grin

I have face blindness. I literally don't recognise people I've met many times. If you're wearing the same thing as the last time, are coming out of your house or car or you speak .. i will work out who you are. But just by looking, no chance

I just remembered my most embarrasing face blindness was when I was attending a class and there was a seventeen year old girl there. I used to say hello and had even sat next to her a couple of times. There was a girl the same age I used to talk to every week at a pottery group I went to. It turns out it was the same girl, I just didn’t connect her. 😑

This thread has made me realise I may have face blindness to an extent as I am now thinking of a couple of other instances where I have not recognised people. It’s very embarrasing.
