Ok so she';s been married before. But when compared to the last female to marry into the royal family who is (let's face it) a bit boring and certainly not a hard-working role model - she's lived a normal life, worked hard to make it in showbusiness and it's not her fault her father's side of the family are like they are. Plus she didn't grow up with them from what I gather. But on websites like the Daily Fail people seem to hate her. Why?

The whole Stan thing is fascinating and horrifying in equal measure! It's so weird that women ( and it's almost exclusively adult women) are so obsessed with the relationships of men they don't know that they seem almost hysterical in their hatred for the women they have chosen as their wives. The Harry ones, Cumberbatch ones, the Larries, the Outlander, twilight ones. They can't seem to be able to let go or distinguish between reality and fan fiction so all their rantings on the internet become mixed with fact.

She's fake. She smiles to the cameras way too much when doing royal walkabouts, rather than really engaging with people. Her engagement photos were also too showbizzy, and her wardrobe seems even more expensive than Kate's.
I think its a good thing that she isn't white, as if we are going to have a royal family, then they need to be more representative of modern Britain. It would be even better if she let her hair go natural though.
Her family seem a bit strange, but they were still quite well-off, as she went to a private school etc. It would be good if someone working class married into the royal family and made it even more diverse.

Well if the worst thing people say about you is that you smile a lot for cameras then you're probably an ok person.

Omg all this handwringing - I could not roll my eyes any harder. I literally have not seen anything but positive comments about Meghan's race - if anything, people are more upset by the fact she's American.

And Kate Middleton got equally negative comments when she got engaged - about her being a gold digger, lazy etc etc. It was just years ago and everyone's forgotten.

I haven't seen much nastiness. I like her - what fascinates is this not inviting your family to the wedding. Granted, the Markles are a bit of a car crash ... but her uncle who got her a job in the US embassy ... why not invite him? Personally I'd consider inviting the lot and 'managing' them. Even Samantha. Meghan and the firm would have more control - keep your enemies close etc.

Most people don’t know what she is really like (how would you) and don’t feel in a position to comment, others don’t care what she is like as they will never deal with her, the remainder are nasty and these are the ones who are bitchy and go to the trouble of posting criticisms.

I think she is fabulous, gorgeous and Harry is punching above his weight. You name it there's nothing she can say or do that will change their hateful minds. It will only get worse when they have kids and it will be fed by ruthless British media. It wouldn't surprise me if they drive her away in the end.

Any poor female marrying a high-status member of the RF gets a hard time of it. Misogyny at its finest. Hopefully the marriage will last because the DM's vitriol will turn to fawning in, ooh, about 2 or 3 years, or when she pops out the first baby.

As far as I can tell from the comments I have read, the vitriol and shitty, racist remarks are almost entirely from females. Generally, males don't seem to give a fuck about her background, family, previous relationships or any of the other nonsense that females seem to glean so much pleasure from.

I didn’t care either way but two things made me like her:

1. That constantly playing footage of when she was 12 or something and sent a letter to complain about sexist advertising. Adorable!

1. Harry not going on the annual Boxing Day hunt. People go on and on about how lovely he is then you see him with a gun in his hand shooting down animals for larks - it’s revolting. She’s against it, like all decent people, and it’s nice to think she’s already having a positive influence.

I am very jealous of her looks. I said it. She is almost the same age as me but look at her skin! It’s so beautiful! I bet she doesn’t even have pores.
