To go for afternoon tea with my 3 year old

I'm feeling a bit down and anxious at the moment. I'm going through a miscarriage (of which my body hasn't realised yet so it hasn't actually started) baby should be 12 weeks tomorrow but heartbeat stopped around 8. I've a hospital appt tomorrow to start the medical route.

So would it be weird to go for fancy afternoon tea with my 3 year old as a wee treat. Would it look weird.

So sorry for your loss. Have a lovely time with your 3 yo.
Self care is very important and mums always put themselves at the bottom of the list. Enjoy & have a scone for me!

I think when you are going through something so horrible, that you can treat yourself any way that you like .
Your chosen treat being a fancy tea with your 3 year old makes you sound very likeable.
Hope everything goes well and quickly at the hospital x

Similar to squishy I took my four year old as a treat the day before he started reception, he was so excited at being allowed more than one cake! We do it a couple of times a year now, it’s a lovely way to spend a bit of relaxed time together. Enjoy OP CakeBrewFlowers

Depends on the child, my DS would have loved it at that age, in fact we sometimes go for afternoon tea even now, he is 11. I don’t find it weird at all. I was a single parent for 7 years with him and we had all sorts of lovely meals out together

So sorry to hear about your pregnancy, OP. A dd had one like that - nothing there at 8 weeks and it took quite a while for the miscarriage to actually happen. Dreadfully upsetting, but she did go on to have 2 more pregnancies with no problems. Do hope all will be well for you next time.
All best wishes, and please enjoy your lovely tea!
