How do I shift this stone?

I’m 36, 2 dds and think I eat a healthy diet, I’ve started exercising more after a fairly sendatry winter with moving house. 2 years ago when dd2 was a year old I was at my happy weight of 9 stone. Since stopping breastfeeding last summer I just seem to have piled on the weight. I am unhappy. I hate my body.

At Xmas I was 10 stone 2. Since Xmas I’ve given up drinking completely, started exercising. Today I asked them to weigh me at the gym and I’m 10 stone 3. I’m absolutely devastated. I haven’t stopped crying since I left the gym. It’s not muscle. I lose weight when exercising - or at least used to.

I want this stone gone. Please let me know your best weight loss tips. I’m 5’ 5.

OP does say in the OP: "I hate my body.". I doubt she's doing it to alter her BMI.

My BMI was at the top end of the healthy range when I started losing (24.8!), didn't mean I didn't recognise I'd piled on the pounds through eating whatever and whenever I liked, sometimes it's not about health, it's about how you feel about yourself :)

I know my BMI is normal and I’m not doing this for health reasons. That may sound vacuous and ridiculous but I know I’m much happier with my body when I’m 9 stone. I’ve given up drinking, started exercising and couldn’t understand why I’m a pound heavier than when I started. Having looked at my diet, specifically my portion sizes and bread and milk intake (I worked out that I’ve been drinking about 500 calories a day in homemade teas and coffees) it’s clear to see why the weight has crept on Smile

Ah right, I was just thinking that 65kg at 5'5 sounds rather reasonable but if you feel at your most confident at 57kg then have at it Smile

I is rubbish indication.

I'd like to lose a few more pounds but itl only just put me back to 25bmi.
Anything less than that and I start looking very skinny.

We are all built differently and if you have muscle thighs and large breasts that can be enough weight wise to pop you over.

I do waist to height ratio measurement and despite being classed as 26.5 bmi my waist to height ratio is well within the middle of what they recommend.

I think bmi can be a good indication at the extremes but just outside of 'normal' is quite frankly a bit of rubbish in most instants.

My DP is under 18, but he's tall and slender and muscly (Bruce lee type build) and certainly not underweight either

Ive started my fitness pal and a banana, Granny Smith and small pear has me over my sugars for today.. still need to eat dinner!!

Allthewaves · 21/05/2018 15:28

Your heavier but could you actually be measuring smaller if you used a tape measure?

WittgensteinsBunny · 21/05/2018 15:46

Hi all, just to let you know that I’ve been loosely following the blood sugar diet, tracking everything on MyFitnessPal and trying to move a little more and track it on my tracker and today I’m 3lbs less Grin
