The red dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge

It was practically identical to the one worn by Mia Farrow in Rosemary's baby, right down to the lace collar, just a different shade of red. I mean huge royal photo shoots like the one where she stood on the steps holding her baby are never by chance. Intense planning goes into official shoots like that. I just found it rather strange. Aibu to think it a strange choice. Anyone else, or am i being silly.

YABU

I thought Kate was taking the piss out of everyone who gasped when she wore a white dress last time.

Half the population seemed to be on bloodstain watch.

AmazingPostVoices · 11/05/2018 14:52

Why are you so sure the palace would have been aware?

I disagree that it’s “too iconic”. It’s really not.

Amanduh · 11/05/2018 15:02

You were freaked out?
What an odd thread.
Yabu and ridiculous. HTH

icedcoke · 11/05/2018 15:12

Amandu yes i was, and i wasn't the only one, going off the comments on twitter. Why wouldn't i be, it's beyond strange imo. Confused
But odd thread? well not that odd that you came on it. I would have thought more interesting than odd. Odd that you think it odd actually.

Why are you so sure the palace would have been aware?
Because i'm totally convinced that the palace is aware of EVERYTHING connected to them. I don't think anything would pass them by without their approval. The monarchy has to be preserved at all costs, everything would have to go through them before it went public.

Kate was carrying the child of the heir to the throne, i'm certain that what she wore would have been planned and researched to the most minutest detail, probably months before. I don't think anything happens by chance. But that is my opinion of course.

I've never seen Rosemary's baby or in fact heard of it before so the joke was lost on me.

Curtainshopping · 11/05/2018 15:45

I don’t think ‘the palace’ are involved in what Kate wears, I really don’t. She has more autonomy than that, and her own stylists.

BaldricksTrousers · 11/05/2018 15:49

Obviously it means Kate is a lizard person and the high wizard of the illuminati.

Seriously, what is with the batch of conspiracy theorists and tinfoil hats that have been posting here lately? Just yesterday it was the thread about the Met Ball being evil and satanic. Go back to Vigilant Citizen.

AmazingPostVoices · 11/05/2018 15:58

You understand that “the palace” is just a bunch of people OP?

They aren’t all seeing, all knowing.

icedcoke · 11/05/2018 16:00

I don't think it was meant as a joke and i think they'd be aware that not everyone would have to have known about it. I'm not saying it's the case here but the fact that not everyone would be aware of the significance might somehow make something more deceptive? The fact that they would know would be enough. But hey perhaps it's all one big coincidence, we'll probably never know will we. Grin

It was horrible. Even the Duchess of Cambridge cannot carry off a Peter Pan collar.

AmazingPostVoices · 11/05/2018 16:58

I'm not saying it's the case here but the fact that not everyone would be aware of the significance might somehow make something more deceptive? The fact that they would know would be enough

And they’d do this very, very, very weird thing because...?

UkuleleRose · 11/05/2018 17:30

"Iconic" costumes I remember from the movies:

Princess Leia's white caftan
Scarlett O'Hara's green curtain dress
Carol Burnett's satire of Scarlett O'Hara's green curtain dress

icedcoke · 11/05/2018 18:24

I suppose i do sound a bit silly, mad, I'm not sure really what the heck i'm on about. I'm a fairly anxious person, and just came across all this conspiracy stuff by accident down the intriguing rabbit hole of the internet. Me being me, as usual got a bit carried away and was starting to half believe all sorts of crazy stuff.

Thanks for talking me down everyone, i just wanted to hear a bit of rationality i think. I think i have too much time on my hands. Grin

Bless you Iced.

Step away from the conspiracy stuff.

Rosemary’s Baby doesn’t have anything to do with the Palace though.
