Having a bit of a stressful day, so I thought I'd focus on the things that are cheering me up!

  1. I'm working from home
  2. I have laundry drying on the line which will smell amazing when it's done
  3. my neighbours' cat is very cutely asleep on my garden bench

Tell me what is lifting your spirits today!

I've spent the day cuddling my beautiful little boy, who's six weeks old. He's an IVF baby and I feel so very happy every day to finally have him!

ProzacAndWine · 10/05/2018 18:59

A much needed hug from someone lovely.
Tea, just the ordinary kind; it's just so nice right now.
The cooler weather.
A Bill Bryson audio book.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 10/05/2018 19:01

I found a bar of foreign chocolate that a colleague bought me because he thought I'd like it. I'd forgotten had it.

It tastes like my favour chocolate bar from childhood that they haven't made since the 80s.

I am very happy.😊

WhatsGoingOnEh · 10/05/2018 19:08

@mumsiedarlingrevolta I actually remember writing how his cheek felt against mine as I carried him in the sunshine.

This is so lovely. I just got all emotional! I loved that.

RosaRosaRose · 10/05/2018 19:09

My friend is coming over at the weekend.
My daughter has proposed a visit with her best friend to stay at mine next month. Love them both!
Get a lovely welcome home from my little dog every day.
Got the garden to a manageable state.

My glass of Wine

My Doppler arrived so I’ve heard my baby’s heartbeat. I had two MMC last year and was convinced the same would happen this time, couldn’t believe it when we saw the baby wriggling around at the scan. I’ve been on a high ever since.

Bubba1234 · 10/05/2018 19:14

FawnDrench · 10/05/2018 19:17

My dog has been so so excited to be chasing after his new ball in the garden, and didn't want to come in despite panting and huffing about, and being clearly knackered.

Our petunias are out and looking rather lovely.

A bullfinch came to the bird feeder / table this morning - gorgeous.

GrannyGrissle · 10/05/2018 19:18

Minapaws i got so excited when i discovered newts in our garden, then again when they moved into the pond i built them. DD(4) thinks i am a 'weirdo' Grin Glad someone shares my enthusiasm for the little beasties.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 10/05/2018 19:20

My mum just babysat my four kids while my OH and I went for a carvery.
Now they are in bed starting to settle and I'm going to have an early night after feeding baby and getting him to sleep.
OH is going to a recruitment tomorrow for a new job and hoping he gets it.

MissWilmottsGhost · 10/05/2018 19:20

I like the idea of 5 good things a day mumsie, let me try...

I found the keys my colleague lost.

DD kept her plaits in all day for the first time since she started school.

DD playing bow and arrows in the sunny garden.

The seeds I sowed in my veggy patch are starting to come up.

DH and I ate steak for tea

Smile
MissWilmottsGhost · 10/05/2018 19:23

karmacoma1 · 10/05/2018 19:29

Lovely thread :)

DD went down like a dream.

I have a good friends birthday on Saturday - dh and I get a child free day/night to attend.

It’s treat night and I am awaiting a glorious papa johns, whilst drinking a delectable g and t GinGrin

AnnUnderTheFryingPan · 10/05/2018 19:29

I had a bath, face pack, filed my feet.

Spoke to a really nice man on the tax credits helpline. He was helpful and I ticked that job off.

Painted my toe nails.

I have been really struggling lately, overwhelmed, suffering from anxiety, and living in a state of panic.

I have worked so hard in all areas of my life, and I was burning out. So I didn’t see anyone whilst the DCs were at school, I made no plans and I didn’t feel guilty for it.

I just went slower.

Tomorrow I’m going to bake a cake. I miss having time to bake.

0lgaDaPolga · 10/05/2018 19:31

Just been for my 12 week scan and there’s a perfect little baby in there. I’m so happy and relieved Smile

Colbu24 · 10/05/2018 19:36

I've been looking for some pieces of Lego to complete a set to sell. I've looked everywhere I've driven myself crazy for weeks. Then today I found it I feel so happy.
I also saw two of my best friends today. It was great.
I bought a nasty dry chicken today and I called Tesco and got a refund.
Very good day overall Smile

Ragwort · 10/05/2018 19:37

A walk and lovely lunch out with a good friend.

DH away for the night so I can slob around and watch my choice of tv Grin.

MrsLaurac · 10/05/2018 19:42

Thanks to new look giving me £5 voucher for spending £20 I got some shoes for £1.38 and a play suit for £1.99 because I split my large order to get best value.

This week seems to have gone really quick :-)

Compliments from my boss today.

Funnyface1 · 10/05/2018 19:44

Taking 20 month dd to soft play today with mil and all having a lovely time.

Spending time in the garden with DH who is radically changing it so the DC can play safely.

Visiting my parents and helping them with a job.

Chip shop chips!

Feeling no pain.

LassoOfTruth · 10/05/2018 19:44
  1. Driving past a carpet of bluebells in nearby woods
  2. DD's hilarious and adorable facial expressions as she picked up and gummed some avocado for the very first time
holycityzoo · 10/05/2018 19:45

It was school mass today( outside on the school playground) for dd(7) and I had to take my two ds with me (4 and 3) I thought they would play up but actually they set up the blanket I took and invited some other preschoolers they saw there to come and join them for a picnic and to play with their toys. They were so well behaved and reasonably quiet!
I was very proud!

Porcupinepine · 10/05/2018 19:50

My dh is here, who I haven't seen in 3 months.

We have just been to lidl and bought loads of yummy food. Pie in the oven and a glass of wine started.

The sun is just setting across the hills and we have an outstanding view of it.
