To wish other motorists would stop trying to hit my sodding car?!?

I have had four near crashes in two bloody days. None of these were even remotely my fault and were caused either by drivers pulling out at junctions without enough time or cutting up lanes on roundabouts because they haven't got a clue which lane they should be in!!

I'm so wound up by it! I'm a decent driver and try to be really careful but am finding it difficult to continually have to pre-empt others bad driving.

So... AIBU to think that drivers should be required to retest every, say, 10 years (or less?) to ensure they are up to date on changes to road laws and remain competent drivers?

And then you all wonder why some of us don't drive ...?

They are all out on the road today.

Just done a 15 mile round trip and don't want to go out again. Driving along a main road at 40mph with nobody behind me (big queue in front) and a woman pulls out of a petrol station just as I get to it, having hesitated for long enough for me to catch up.

Then got stuck behind someone pulling onto the motorway at 35 mph at the part where 2 motorways cross and everyone else is doing 70, who then waited until I'd pulled across before sliding across in front of me. (There are 3 directions to go; he hadn't gone over so I thought he must be taking the left fork).

Then to cap it all get someone in front of me on the dual carriageway doing 35 mph in the outside lane (50 limit). Everyone is overtaking us on the inside so I'm pleased when he eventually pulls across and I can get past him. Once in the inside lane, he speeds up (why do people do this?). No problem, more people in his lane at the next lights so I'm in front of him. Then approaching next set, an Audi swoops into my lane as everyone is braking, just missing the front of my car. I can either slam on and hope I miss him or go back to the left lane. Of course by this time the other bloke has seen me and speeded up in the inside lane, but I'm nowhere near as close to him as the Audi was to me.

Stop at the lights and asshole pulls from behind me into the lane next to me. Glance over and he is screaming at me. Totally red in the face and eyes bulging. Didn't put my window down and turned away once I'd mouthed "what is your problem?" so I've no idea what he said. Thought that was preferable to screaming back, though it would have been interesting to know what he thought he was doing.

Why is it always the people you've been wondering whether they've actually passed their test that end up shouting at you? I've got a dashcam so if it came to it could prove he was the one being a dick but he clearly thought it was me.
