To not be enjoying the heat?

Currently not enjoying this heat with major period cramps and diarrhea Sad. I guess white trousers and a nice top is out of the question for me today!
Anyone else feel like there insides are being hacked out by mini borrower type people with axes? This heat is making it unbearable and making me very grumpy!! Poor Dh...

Like a PP, 33 weeks pregnant so not loving it. I've done alright past few days but we've been busy so haven't had time to think about it. But it's caught up with me today and I'm on my third nap! Happy for it to be warm but a breeze would be nice.

Bowlofbabelfish · 07/05/2018 18:14

24 weeks pregnant and hate Hot weather - and by hot I mean anything over about 15C.

Katedotness1963 · 07/05/2018 18:28

I'm not pregnant or I'll, I just hate hot weather. I hate feeling sweaty and shiny. I'm not moving far from my fan!

Katedotness1963 · 07/05/2018 18:29

Ill, thank you spellcheck...

ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/05/2018 18:40

I'm with you OP, hate the heat, am particularly pissed off because it feels like we've skipped all the nice cooler but sunny Spring days and skipped straight from Winter into a heatwave. Too hot to go walking or have a wander about anywhere.

Have managed by picnicking by water for the last two days, I stayed in the shade and read a book, the children had a great time swimming and splashing around and DH boiled his olive-skinned brains in the sun.

Also had two barbecues and one dinner at the pub because I'm going nowhere near a cooker of any description.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 07/05/2018 18:40

(I also went to bed last night chanting 'Only four months until September').

Popadoodledoo · 07/05/2018 18:42

Not ill. Or pregnant. Just very ginger. So my akin is NOT enjoying this heat.

rainbowfudgee · 07/05/2018 18:45

Get well soon, OP.

I'm feeling off colour today, can't decide if I'm ill or just too hot. DCs wanted to stay at home today as we've done two big family days out this weekend- theme park and beach. Ok, we said. DH filled up the paddling pool, then they spent all morning screaming and whining in it. I went out in the end! When I came back an hour later they had been banished indoors with TV on.

Totally agree that 20 degrees is a nice, pleasant temperature but more than 25 is just uncomfortable. And I hate winter too.

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 07/05/2018 18:46

No yanbu but people will tell you to stop moaning, despite the fact that most of them spend the majority of the year moaning about the cold/cloud/rain/wind/snow.

We live in a flat with no garden and a toddler who burns despite sun cream and hat.

KERALA1 · 07/05/2018 18:47

YABU

We've had 7 months of winter. Don't begrudge us heat and warmth lovers 3 days.

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 07/05/2018 18:49

Oh give over kerala, it'll be warm until at least November.

Christmas day was 13c where we were, that's mild.

LoniceraJaponica · 07/05/2018 18:52

The weather is going downhill after tomorrow anyway.

Most people I know like this kind of weather. There does seem to be a disproportionately high number of summer haters on MN though.

toffee1000 · 07/05/2018 18:52

Warm until at least November??? Seriously?? Where do you live??

Half of MN seems to hate summer so you’re not the only one OP.
I’m pale, ginger and get hay fever. I should hate summer, right? Nope. I love warm weather.

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 07/05/2018 18:53

Depends what you class as warm. I only class it as cold when it's less than 10 really and that hardly ever happens in London.

KERALA1 · 07/05/2018 18:54

My forecast says tomorrow it's 14 degrees and raining here. Happy?

Summer in England often grey and rarely get above 20 degrees. We've had an unusually long and cold winter. So whining about this weather is pathetic.

Roussette · 07/05/2018 18:56

My sympathies to all those pregnant, I'm sure it's uncomfortable.

However...
I would like this good weather to last until at least mid October! I'm loving it, then to have it snatched away probably tomorrow grrrrrr. I blossom in the heat and hibernate when it's cold. I live in the wrong country obviously...

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 07/05/2018 18:56

27 and sunny here tomorrow. I rarely find it cold down south.

Moaning about the weather full stop is largely pointless really, isn't it.

KERALA1 · 07/05/2018 18:58

I was pregnant during the 2006 heatwave. Sat in a chair in the garden with cool drinks. Happy memories.

Luckymummy22 · 07/05/2018 18:58

I’m not a fan and my 3 year old definitely isn’t.
His face has been scarlet all day. He’s been sneezing and snotty nose followed by a nose bleed.
And he’s got prickly heat.
Roll on tomorrow when it looks to be low 20’s.
days like this I remember why we don’t abroad yet!!

JediStoleMyBike · 07/05/2018 18:59

30 weeks pregnant here with an almost 14 month old DD. She had her jabs late last week and has been fevery / crying / clingy ever since. Constant struggle to keep us both cool while she lies on me, day and night 🙁 You all have my sympathies!

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 07/05/2018 18:59

It's also really horrible for little ones with eczema and hay-fever, like my two year old.

toffee1000 · 07/05/2018 19:01

I have both of those Fosters. I guess it depends on the severity, but sun is supposed to be good for eczema.
And maybe I feel the cold more than others. I’d class it as warm if I don’t have to wear a coat or cardigan.

Yarnswift · 07/05/2018 19:02

I now live in Sweden where summer is still too bloody hot Grin

And also pregnant. My favourite kind of Warner weather is that kind of cool breeze, sun and clouds, weather you can hike in without dying of heat.

But -10 and bright blue sky is even nicer.

I do miss the rain though.

WomaninGreen · 07/05/2018 19:04

"e it feels like we've skipped all the nice cooler but sunny Spring days and skipped straight from Winter into a heatwave."

Yes it does feel that way, and Spring is my fave.

I'm currently between boiling flat, boiling tube and hospital visits so not happy. But we seem to miss the happy medium in london. like 20c and sunny is grand. But last year we had several boiling days in London and very little mid range.

Hope you feel better soon op.

MrsLaurac · 07/05/2018 19:43

I love the hot weather abroad where it's a decision whether I do anything that day or sit around the pool I absolutely hate this weather when life has to carry on I still have housework to do and chores to do and the weather just makes it all the harder.
