I gave her a scarf for her birthday and she's just gone to see her inlaws and one of the many photos she's posted is of her MiL wearing the scarf and proudly showing it off!

Should I:
a) say nothing
b) 'like' the photo or
c) comment saying "nice scarf"???

I'm actually not remotely offended but surely if you regift you keep it quiet?!?

And it was a naice scarf, not a shite one!

I gave my MIL a scarf last year. This year she gave it back to me for my birthday. I found it quite amusing!

Is she trying to tell you in a very polite way that she doesn't wear or even like scarves.
I remember knitting my uncle and scarf when I was about 11. It was about 2" wide and about as long as a pencil.Grin.

It wouldn't have fitted around a mouse.
I can still remember his pretending to be pleased whilst at the same time thinking WTF is this face.Grin

If people buy me stuff I don’t like but appreciate as nice I regift. I don’t always remember the original gifter as was busy being being polite at the time. Don’t be offended, surely you’ve had a gift that you don’t like, better than it going in the bin

My mum regifted me a vase once, ‘Can’t remember who gave it to me, but it’s not my sort of thing. Bit dull. I thought you’d like it’
Me mum. I bought you that elegant, expensive vase.
Very happy to have it back!

If you’re not bothered, then say nothing. Why would you try to create an awkward situation?
