AIBU to think this is an indent line not bfp

Posting in here for the traffic...

Apologies for how gross tests always look when taken out of the case. Ignore that. But this is a colourless indent line, right? Not a BFP.

That's a line to me. Remember it takes ages for cycles to get back to normal after giving birth... my "the dates don't match up" post-baby line is now 5 years old.

FoxyRoxy · 30/04/2018 16:43

It has colour, indents are grey. It's a faint bfp. Do you know how far into your cycle you ovulate? It is possible for sperm to live up to 5 days if in favourable conditions. I'd test with fmu tomorrow, hope you're ok OP Flowers

SnobbyShores · 30/04/2018 16:44

I see a faint positive too.
I didn't get a bfp with my first pregnancy until I was a week overdue my period, even then it was faint. I had a couple of bfns about 4 days past my expected period, but felt slightly off, dizzy and not quite right which led me to keep taking them until a faint line showed up.
If day1 was 28th march when you're probably about to ovulate on April 11th, so definitely fertile April 9th.
Imagining you may be freaked out if you have a 4 month old. Test again tomorrow first thing, I'm not sure this one is conclusive.

FoxyRoxy · 30/04/2018 16:45

Also your "period" 2 weeks ago could have been implantation, sorry x

GrimSqueaker · 30/04/2018 16:47

The "funny period" I had turned out to be implantation. I never actually had a normal period after giving birth... waited 6 years for DD1 and one post-natal bonk for DD2 (11 months between them as I don't do pregnancies to term!)

flowerpicture · 30/04/2018 16:48

I know but even stretching it out to the extreme (sperm surviving 5 days, implantation taking the full 10 days), I'd still be 16DPO today or 6 days post completed implantation and therefore would have a strong or at least properly visible bfp?

I guess it's all speculation until I take another test. I'm just overanalysing now!

This is it an hour later just for reference. I feel like aside from the random dots of pink on either end, the line has dried grey/colourless.

It's bloody hard to get a good picture of something you see clear as day in person lol.

Not sure if you are hoping to be pregnant or not, but I have evaps that were a lot darker than. If the last time you had sex was the 9th, to be pregnant, the latest you could have ovulated in the 14th, and even then that would be quite incredible. You would therefore be 2 weeks post ovulation and would expect a darker line.

Still, odd things do happen when it comes to conception.

flowerpicture · 30/04/2018 17:04

That's my thinking too, swing.

I’m not one for seeing lines on these threads really but I can see a faint pink line in the first picture.

When you say “we’ve been careful” just how careful do you mean?

flowerpicture · 30/04/2018 17:17

Okay I'm gonna level with you. By careful I mean not really careful at all actually. Blush I didn't want to admit it because I'm plenty old enough to know better and to NOT get caught up in any heat of the moments. Of the 4 times we had sex that week, we managed a condom twice...

Ah ffs I've just seen the NHS website now says sperm can live up to 7 days inside the female body. Anyone know how accurate that is? The info was updated January 2018.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 30/04/2018 17:20

I'd put a tenner on that being a bfp!

SoupDragon · 30/04/2018 17:21

Ah.

TBH, there is no point worrying or trying to work out dates etc. Only another test is going to answer this! I hope you get the result you want!

SoupDragon · 30/04/2018 17:23

I’m being very unsupportive and giggling a lot at your interpretation of “been careful” though 😂

FoxyRoxy · 30/04/2018 17:24

I've never heard that before and every other source on Google says 5 days max. Second pic has definitely got colour but I think you need to either wait until morning or try not to pee for the next 4 hours. Sorry you're in limbo, I do know the feeling. (14m gap between 2 youngest DC's, it was not done on purpose Blush )

flowerpicture · 30/04/2018 17:26

Lmao it was me trying to save face 😂 I'm in my 30s. I've got 2 kids. One of which I only just birthed! It's not like any of this is new to me lol. Honestly, I've been a total bellend here. I just hadn't had sex for a year! Himself had his knob out! You know how it is.

MissWimpyDimple · 30/04/2018 17:31

I can NEVER see the line on these "is there a line threads" and even I can see the line!

SoyDora · 30/04/2018 17:36

I’ve heard that sperm can live up to 7 days but I think it’s fairly unusual.

willynillypie · 30/04/2018 17:39

I can see a line too - and who knows when ovulation actually occurred because your system will be all over the shop at the moment. Take a test tomorrow and see what happens. What prompted you to take this one, are you having symptoms? Also lol at your "being careful" fib, you sound like a sweetie! (Yes, we know how it is Grin )

flowerpicture · 30/04/2018 17:45

Haha thanks, Willy 😳😄

I decided to start testing because I think I expected a period by now? Also I've been feeling sicky the same way I did in the early days of my last pregnancy. That's it really!

OP posts:
willynillypie · 30/04/2018 17:53

Also I've been feeling sicky the same way I did in the early days of my last pregnancy

Sweet baby Jesus, that would convince me! See how it goes tomorrow!

HoneyBadgerApparently · 30/04/2018 17:54

Another BFP. Congrats!

My youngest 2 were really close together and are best friends now.

flowerpicture · 30/04/2018 17:57

It's looking like DH can grab a test for me on his way back from the school run in the morning. I can hold my pee until then. I'll update the thread if anyone's interested!

OP posts:
TawnyPort · 30/04/2018 17:58

If you have to take it apart, its not a line. If you have to ask the internet, its not a line. If its not a clear and obvious line within 5 mins, its not a line.
Wait 3 days and do it again.
