Got a pair of PJ sets from sainsbury's last week, washed and worn twice now. While folding laundry just noticed the bottoms are a size smaller than the top. Thankfully not made much difference to my DD as she is small waisted, so does fit her but that means she'll grow out of bottoms before the tops! Why do people think it's ok to chop and change from sets as they like!?

@shouldwestayorshouldwego that's all right, as long as you're not swapping best by dates around on other meat (which actually may be an offence, but I'm sure you already know)

Back in the pre-internet-shopping dark ages, we went to Jhn Lw*s to buy a lawnmower. They didn't have the one we wanted in stock, so we paid and arranged to have one delivered. When it arrived a week or so later, it had grass in it!

More recently, I watched a woman in a super market carefullly disect a head of broccoli (sold by weight) into florets so that she didn't have to buy the talk.

I still have a pair of size 14 knickers knocking around that I occasionally wear by accident and regret for the rest of the day. It came in a multipack of size 18s.

I still haven't worked out why anyone would want to swap a size 14 for a size 18, it must be falling off them.

I did once, after failing to find a complete pack, take two multipacks of M&S knickers that had already been half ransacked to the till, and ask if they could make me a full multipack out of them, as the colours that had been taken were the ones I didn't like! They initially wanted to do it for me, but it turned out they weren't allowed to and had to make it up with the correct colour combination only... spoilsports.

I have a set like this from Sainsburys. Bottoms 7-8 and tops 9-10. Always presumed it was a packing error though.

The scuzzyness of the general population never ceases to amaze me!

OhNotSoSaintMaria · 29/04/2018 13:08

QuinionsRainbow, that's even worse. Atleast now we know it's a consistent vehaviour amongst the general public

I once bought a lovely duvet set (pillowcases included). DH put it in the washing before we put it on the bed. I asked him where the pillowcases where, he said there wasn't any in there. He thought I'd just bought a duvet cover. I rechecked the packaging and someone had definitely taken the pillowcases out. Why!!

I now check everything before I buy it.

I bought some canvas trainers from Sainsbury’s and only tried on the right one, assuming they’d both fit. Got them home and the left one is a size smaller. Grrr. My own fault for not picking up ones that were attached with the the elastic I suppose. But I was in a hurry.

Next time I’m there I’ll look out for the bandit with two different sized feet.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 29/04/2018 18:15

OverTheMountain42 when I buy a duvet set I always buy extra pillowcases so I can change them more often. I think you fell victim to the scumbag version of this tactic!

I used to run an online pet store we once had someone buy a dog harness, then returned the pack with an old harness for a full refund, the harness had dog hair and dander in it and was clearly used. They obviously didn't expect us to check the return. We refused to refund and told them why, never heard anything else back from them.

YoThePussy · 29/04/2018 18:45

Does my head in when this happens. Tried to force my size 18 bottom into a pair of size 10 knickers not long ago. Nearly cut off my blood supply and was not happy. Had to be my favourite colour of the 5 pack from ASDA tht had been swapped too.

When I rule the world I will inflate and superglue swapped knickers to people’s bonces. Cones of shame for pets will have nothing on it.

It is very annoying, and things on the wrong size hanger. I always check the sizes now as I have been caught out to many times
