Kate and William, seem like a lovely couple, happy for them their third child is healthy and named. Think she looked nice coming out of the hospital.

Megan and Harry - happy for them.

But I couldn’t really care less. I didn’t care when Kate and William got married. My mum told me what a misery I was but I was in a state of ‘WTF?’ when I saw the absolute FRENZY the country was in.

I will be the same when Harry gets married.

I was not waiting with baited breath for the new baby name or birth.

Am I misery? On my own? I get it’s all a nice event etc etc but to be honest I find air all a bit embarrassing. Watching ‘the masses’ camping out behind their iron fences hoping to catch a glimpse of their ‘betters’, like they are idols we should all be worshipping. Ugh.

I’m not a misery day to day honest 😂

Can't bear Anne. Margaret syndrome.

Zara is just about bearable thanks to her sporting success but the other one seems to follow the well trodden royal path of milking his connections and pedigree just as hard as he can.

The infuriating thing about the emetic Royal-fest we are currently being subjected to is the BBC’s attitude to it all.

Nauseating, unquestioning, obsequious, sycophantic propaganda.

The BBC are supposed to be impartial, yet we never hear republican voices or opinions challenging the officially approved narrative.

Perhaps when the Queen finally departs the scene, some long overdue changes will be introduced.

Sunafterstorm · 27/04/2018 21:40

Hmm. Sky News keep 'inviting' is to the Royal Wedding. It's my cue to mute the television.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/04/2018 21:40

Youre not the only one. The children are delicious. However aside from that I have zero interest and The sooner this blardy wedding is over the better. If I hear it mentioned much more I'll boil my own head and eat it. AngryGrin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/04/2018 21:42

Oh FucK. I've just remembered I had 'one of those dreams' about Prince Charles last night. Blush.

SilverySurfer · 27/04/2018 21:43

Just enough to start yet another thread huh? Hmm

Mousefunky · 27/04/2018 21:45

The only legitimate argument royalists can think of is tourism. They forget that Paris receives more tourists year upon year than London. People still want to see the palace of Versailles. It isn’t as if when people see Buckingham Palace old Queeny is stood outside offering people tea and biscuits... it’s just a fucking building that tourists would still want to see.

Sadly, I don’t see us becoming a republic in our lifetime.

Hellywelly10 · 27/04/2018 21:48

The wedding will be a good oppertunity to go to the post office, swimming pool and get a manicure. Town will be dead.

elQuintoConyo · 27/04/2018 21:49

I'm terribly sorry if you're not feeling the love for my Bil's wedding to Megs next month. I'd tell you all to F off, but i've got a newborn clamped to me and busybody GMil keeps peeking over my shoulder to coo. Wish we had our own place...

elQuintoConyo · 27/04/2018 21:50

Oh crap, namechange fail Blush

It's easy to avoid them- don't buy the mags, mute news when they appear don't buy newspapers or open mumsnet threads about royal things - don't go to royal palaces to visit, don't watch the wedding.

Actually, they are hard to avoid! Lol!

TefalTester123 · 27/04/2018 22:30

They represent everything that is wrong about the jobs for the boys, public school elite, establishment etc etc problems that our society is riddled with. It's not just their individual family, it's the whole idea that your background and who you are gives you authority over others.

Also, for a glimpse of the future read up on the ludicrous stuff that will go on when the queen dies. Hopefully that will make people think twice about how much we're all expected to toe the pro-royal line.

allthegoodnameshadgone · 28/04/2018 22:34

I'm more bothered what type of yoghurts are free when you buy three SW meals tbh.

I wish them all the best.

Bit hope SW might release signature WK flavours like Elton mess, etc.

allthegoodnameshadgone · 28/04/2018 22:37

I've pasted the same post now on the right thread. Am still concerned about muller flavours and syn values.

This is a valid concern.

spot on. we have learned the bbc is not impartial. its not.

its rotten.

I would much prefer a down graded european style royalty..

SunwheretheFareyou · 28/04/2018 22:39

People still want to see the palace of Versailles

^^ versailles is a different kettle of fish, its far more famous that Buck palace! Its got far more exciting history, the only remote thing that makes bucks house interesting is P Diana and the fact our royals are still alive.

karmacoma1 · 28/04/2018 23:14

It’s interesting. Despite the constant sycophantic coverage of harry and Megan and the wedding by itv, bbc, magazine blogs etc - in ‘real life’ no one seems that bothered. No talk in the office, no over hearing strangers talk about it. Even my royalist parents don’t seem to be bothered.

I would love to think the majority of us as a nation are changing our views... sadly I don’t think so.

ForalltheSaints · 29/04/2018 07:24

I have other plans for the 19th so will not be in front of the television watching. Each to their own, and as with any other couple I wish them a long happy marriage.

biscuitraider · 29/04/2018 16:44

Buck house will hopefully have the same exciting history once the royals are gone. Big empty palaces where a royal family once lived is probably a bigger draw than those palaces that only have small sections open to the public, with not a cat in hells chance of ever spotting one of them. Diana didn't live at Buck house btw.

As it is now Buck house doesn't receive that many visitors in comparison to other tourist attractions, if it was empty of royals i should imagine they'd be flocking there in their droves.
