I'm posting for traffic here sorry.
I'm so embarrassed about this but this has happened before to me.
Twice I have dreamt that I'm on the toilet and wet the bed and it's just happened again. I am with a new partner and last time it happened I told him that I had spilt water this time I woke up and he hasn't noticed yet.
What the hell I do.

Did you say your diabetic op?
Is your diabetes under control?
My dog is diabetic and when his bg is high he wets his bed during the night.
I agree you need to see a dr op.

Another with toilet dream, but it wakes me up, so no harm done. Early morning dribble - try saying "I can get there, no problem" and deliberately relax - seems to work better than clenching to try to hold on. And keep your eyes averted from the toilet pan as you reach the bathroom - don't want your brain to relax too soon ;-)

Avoiding caffeine, alcohol, hot chocolate really does work - so annoying!

mastershelp · 26/04/2018 10:26

I had this as a child and a few times last year. You actually wet first and then have the dream, which is your body's way of waking you up. Make sure you go to the toilet last thing at night.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 26/04/2018 10:27

Sounds like you’ve got a good one there -as you say, he probably does know the truth but doesn’t want to embarrass you by saying anything.

TooTrueToBeGood · 26/04/2018 10:30

I went through a period of this some years ago. Went to the docs and she reckoned it was something to do with not being fully in or out of sleep. As we discussed things we got round to the fact I snore a lot and she suspected sleep apnoea. I eventually got a positive diagnosis of this and fortunately it was something I was able to remediate through lifestyle changes so I didn't need to down the route of a CPAP machine but I do need to constantly ensure I keep my weight in check.

Do you snore or stop breathing in your sleep? If so, do go and see a doctor as sleep apnea can have far more serious consequences than peeing the bed.

Lucky6266 · 26/04/2018 10:33

My diabetes isn't properly controlled yet because I neglect it a bit and I'm overweight.

OP posts:
Lucky6266 · 26/04/2018 10:34

I snore bad at times as well.

OP posts:
Lucky6266 · 26/04/2018 10:34

God the thought that he knows is so embarrassing.

OP posts:
Lucky6266 · 26/04/2018 10:35

How do I face him later

OP posts:
Lucky6266 · 26/04/2018 10:36

It was the way he said I know.

OP posts:
LovelySouffle · 26/04/2018 10:37

Just be honest

BlackWatchBelle · 26/04/2018 10:38

Hey OP, what is your bg this morning? Are you type 1 or 2? High bg will cause accidents, it happened to my little boy. Diabetes is never under control, trust me, but you can try your best to manage it.

Lucky6266 · 26/04/2018 10:40

How the heck do I say it

OP posts:
Lucky6266 · 26/04/2018 10:41

I'm 2

OP posts:
Jon66 · 26/04/2018 10:45

If he doesn't mention it, why should you?

MereDintofPandiculation · 26/04/2018 10:48

Take away from this thread that you're by no means alone. Female plumbing was not well designed.

HoppingPavlova · 26/04/2018 10:49

This happened to me once as a teen and once when the kids were young. They thought it was absolutely hilarious. I’m not worried as I don’t class that as frequent but what you mention does warrant concern and I would see the Dr.

EthelHornsby · 26/04/2018 10:53

If you’re neglecting your diabetes ‘a bit’ you are heading for more serious problems than a wet bed

TheStoic · 26/04/2018 10:56

I’m sure you are 100% legit, OP, but some people start threads like this and then wank over other people’s stories. Sick, huh??

Joanna57 · 26/04/2018 11:01

So you know how to get rid of the problem, but can't be bothered?

Ok then.

LucyEvans26 · 26/04/2018 11:02

Your diabetes can cause betwetting- is it under control? id get this checked asap- tell your bf that its because of your diabetes and if he cant handle it then better of without him anyway x

DGRossetti · 26/04/2018 11:04

DW used to have this which was solved by an incontinence clinic which recommended self catheterisation just before bed (completely empties the bladder) and a dose of desmopressin to reduce urine production during the night.

In DWs case the causes were down to Multiple Sclerosis (fucks up the bladder nerve control) so it wasn't a mystery as to why it was happening.

I'd never heard of Urodynamics before ...

DistanceCall · 26/04/2018 11:10

My diabetes isn't properly controlled yet because I neglect it a bit and I'm overweight.

And there's your answer. You already know what you need to do, OP.

Rockyhighway · 26/04/2018 11:10

Ah you poor thing. Are your blood sugars high? Type 1 or Type 2, obviously insulin if T1 but if T2 are you on meds or diet controlled. What are your last thing at night and waking numbers like? Do you ever test during the night? If you say your diabetes isn’t under control (and, truthfully, there’s no such thing as T1 diabetes being under control - it will always throw you a curve ball), then are you getting help from your Diabetes Team? Like others, I’m wondering whether it’s high blood sigar related. Please don’t be too embarrassed to go and see your GP and try to find out what’s going on.

DisgruntledGruntle · 26/04/2018 11:18

Just to let you know you are not alone, i have had the 'toilet dream' and woken up in a patch of my own wee too. It's mortifying, luckily my dh slept thru' it, i put towels down and dealt with it later when he'd gone to work, (i have also invested in a good quality waterproof mattress protector).
I have had it a few times, but not recently. I don't think it was a uti, (no other symptoms), it happens when i'm really tired and sleeping heavily i think. I also snore (so my dh tells me), if it happens more regularly, perhaps i should get myself checked for sleep apnea.
