Royal Baby name making me rage

ItWillAllBeFine · 25/04/2018 21:46

Firstly, I know that I am ridiculous and unreasonable and totally over invested but it is GIVING ME THE ABSOLUTE RAGE that the Royals haven't released the name of the baby yet. I'm sure they are doing it deliberately just to exercise the tiny scraping of power they actually have over us. They are doing evil laughs behind the curtains of Buck House and saying "let the commoners wait..."

The next Earl Spencer will be Louis. It’s a bit fey for a Windsor Prince.

GreenTulips · 25/04/2018 23:26

Exhaustedpidgeon

Please look up Prince Albert and pop back

bluebell34567 · 25/04/2018 23:30

maybe Philip Henry Michael?

Battleax · 25/04/2018 23:30

I’m starting to feel really sorry for Prince Albert all those projects and philanthropic cause; major Museums, anti-poverty initiatives, the Great Exhibition, the RAH and the monument, and all anybody goes on about is his alleged genital embellishments.

frogsoup · 25/04/2018 23:34

Graham Greene apparently once submitted an entry to a newspaper competition to write a first line of a novel in the style of Graham Greene. He didn't win but then used it as the first line of his next novel.

If I were Kate, I would SO be posting incognito on this thread saying 'my money is on them calling him Pedro', just to have the satisfaction of being proved right Grin

SevenStones · 25/04/2018 23:35

Oliver works well too.

Are you sure about that? Grin

MakeItStopNeville · 25/04/2018 23:45

I read that Charles hasn't seen the baby yet. Maybe they're just really annoying and refuse to tell him what they've called him until he gets his arse into gear and goes to see them. And obviously if Pop-pop doesn't know, we don't know.

RubyFlint · 25/04/2018 23:58

Oliver works well too.

Are you sure about that?

  • What have I missed? It sounds alright to me Blush
LarkDescending · 26/04/2018 00:03

@RubyFlint a civil war, execution of a monarch & exile of his heir; stuff like that. Somehow Oliver has never found favour with the Royals since Smile

Beeziekn33ze · 26/04/2018 00:06

Philip or Arthur (which is not hideous)

RubyFlint · 26/04/2018 00:11

Ahh yes although that was a long time ago..

Ok Louis it is then.

Or Xander.

Wizzwazzwas · 26/04/2018 00:16

I'm still predicting Alexander, but wonder if they might get away with, say, Hugo?

hagsrus0 · 26/04/2018 00:16

Well, we know it won't be Esmerelda Margaret Note Spelling, anyway.

SubtitlesOn · 26/04/2018 00:16

I think given that William was at ANZAC memorial service today that it was ok not to announce Prince Gary's name today so that headlines weren't about the Prince's name iyswim

Totally believe that Kate and Pippa are both on MN sometimes GrinGrinGrinGrin

All the AIBU that FIL and step MIL have keys to my house and let themselves in without asking and AIBU that we have to join my FIL and the whole family over Christmas and stay in their old fashioned house ....... threads etc GrinGrinGrinGrin

DangerEgg · 26/04/2018 00:21

Personally, I'm appalled/amazed/ gratified/ humbled she had to give birth and go home that day! like the rest of us when it wasn't our first but we don 't have an army of help at home

TuTru · 26/04/2018 00:24

I couldn’t give a rats arse. I’m glad the mother & baby are well. That’s about it.

TheMonkeyMummy · 26/04/2018 00:27

I bet it's Leeroy

TheOriginalEmu · 26/04/2018 00:31

6 weeks. 6 WHOLE WEEKS we waited for my mother to name my sister. 6 weeks of 'ohh maybe Claire...oh bu i went to school with a claire and she had the most terrible hair...claire with the hair we called her, can't have that if she has your nan's hair'....and 'I really like Stardust, don't you? No? Oh alright then......'
You know what she decided in the end?

JANE.
No middle name.

which is very lovely. and also no worth waiting 6 fucking weeks for.

so, i piss on your rage. you aint felt nothing like the fury of an 8 year old with visions of a baby sister called something fairy like and exotic.

SisyphusHadItEasy · 26/04/2018 00:50

They want to add to the suspense.

Prince Xaphod Beeblebrox has such a nice ring to it.

Shadow666 · 26/04/2018 01:06

Do what my parents did and wait until the last possible day to register the birth, then spell it wrong.

MrsJackHackett · 26/04/2018 01:13

I think they may feel it may detract from other current affairs, possibly being seen as insensitive. But I've been checking to no avail.

Heatherjayne1972 · 26/04/2018 06:12

They have to get the official ok from the queen before they can release the name publicly
It’s Royal protocol

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/04/2018 06:16

Philip Michael Charles, I reckon.

Anquin · 26/04/2018 06:18

I’m seriously hoping it’s taking so long because Kate and Carole favour Wayne, and everyone else is horrified at that choice😂

DiamondsBestFriend · 26/04/2018 06:19

Apparently it is the norm for the name to be released within 48 hours. it’s now been almost three days.

I do think that they should be allowed to take their time but tbh have been wondering if all is ok.

I did say at the time that it was a shame they already had a george given the date Grin
